FT: Gladbach 1-3 Leverkusen. Great display from the visitors, who have one of Europe's best young strikers firing on all cylinders. They go third in the Bundesliga, above Gladbach, after a fifth win in a row. Thanks for joining us. Goodbye.
You would think, in shooting range when on a hat trick that Havertz would shoot for goal? Nope, he spotted Diaby is a better position, but his team-mate could not capitalise after losing control.
Three minutes of added time at the end of this. Time for an Havertz hat-trick?
Leverkusen keeping the ball in the corner now, running the clock down.
Elsewhere, Jadon Sancho is back in business...
SAVE! Plea again the danger as he fires for the top corner, but Sommer flings up and arm to make the save.
MISS! Free header for Plea, eight yards out, but he glances the header just wide. Could have ensured a frantic finish.
Great cross from Demirbay right onto the head of Bender. Gladbach look beaten now.
GOOOOAAALLL!!! Gladbach 1-3 Leverkusen. Game over? Bender climbs highest to head home Leverkusen's third.
Julian Baumgartlinger comes on for Leverkusen in place of Aleksandar Dragovic.
Third change for the home side with Oscar Wendt on for Thuram, who was looking very dangerous indeed.
Immediately Benes is into the action, but curls just over the top from a free-kick.
Change for Gladbach as Laszlo Benes makes his way onto the pitch.
MISS! What a chance for Demirbay to make it 3-1. Great play from Diaby to beat two men before forcing a fine block from Sommer, Demirbay is first to react, the goal is empty, but he blazes over from eight yards.
Thuram again is chasing it down, but the final pass is lacking.
Ball is fed to Bailey down the right, but he cannot keep the ball in play.
Thuram is causing all sorts of problems here, if the hosts are to get back into this, it will be through their star man.
Thuram's finish was a fine one, but it may turn out to be in vain.
Change here for Leverkusen as Leon Bailey replaces Bellarbi.
CHANCE! Superb back heel from Thuram into the path of Neuhaus, but his first touch is poor, allowing Hradecky to race from his line to smother at the feet of Neuhaus.
First yellow card of the game for Diaby for a late foul.
The crowd are going wild...
Four goals in less than two games since the return of the Bundesliga...
Real drama here. Harsh to give a penalty after a shot had been taken, but it stands and Leverkusen again have the advantage.
GGGOAAALLL!!!! Gladbach 1-2 Leverkusen. That man Havertz steps up to just beat the despairing dive of Sommer, who got a hand to it, but could not keep it out.
PENALTY! After a long, long delay, and a trip to the monitor to have another look - are you watching, Premier League? - the referee points to the spot.
DRAMA! Great pass from Havertz to feed Bellarbi down the right, he gets the shot away across the face of goal, but the referee is having a look at this for a potential foul after the shot by Elvani. VAR! VAR!
CHANCE! Thuram again! Great strength to hold off his man, but Hradecky makes fine block as Thuram shoots for goal.
Another rising star in world football - Thuram - gets his 12th of the season after collecting a pass from Plea. Super, super goal. Which way will this swing now?
GOOOAAALL!!! Gladbach 1-1 Leverkusen. Cometh the hour, cometh Marcus Thuram! Great equaliser.
Sloppy clearance from Hradecky is only as far as Bensebaini, who elects to shoot early, but fires well wide. Had more time than he realised.
Much better from Gladbach's top goalscorer Thuram, but he cannot quite find Plea at the last.
Havertz waist for space to shoot, pulls onto his left, but his effort is blocked.
KICK OFF! We are back up and running here.
The visitors have been mightily impressive.
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga...
HT: Gladbach 0-1 Leverkusen. Real drama at the end of the half. Will Leverkusen live to regret that miss? They have been so comfortable, but still only lead by one.
CROSSBAR AND OFF THE LINE! Incredible scenes! Firstly, Havertz hooks the ball onto the crossbar, the ball drops down for Demirbay, literally two yards out, with an open goal, he prods for goal, but somehow Nico Elvedi sticks out a leg and blocks on the line and clears! How important will that be!
Little swing in momentum here at the end of the half.
DOUBLE SAVE! Lukas Hradecky gets down smartly to keep out a drilled Neuhaus effort from the edge of the area, and reacts quickest to block Rami Bensebaini on the rebound with his legs. Much, much better from the hosts.
No shot on goal at all from the home side, who have been mightily disappointing here.
Yet another cross from Bellarbi, this time he puts well to much on it and the ball goes behind for a goal kick.
Nice play again down the right by Bellarbi, but his cross is cut out.
The visitors are really pushing high up the pitch, forcing Gladbach to play the ball backwards time and again.
Quite the record...
Still nothing from Gladbach. Havertz still running the show.
Superb touch from Havertz to play Diame in, but the cross is poor and the move comes to an end.
Bellarbi gets to the byline, drills across goal, but Yann Sommer clears with his legs in the home goal.
First we have seen of Alassane Plea after he was pushed into the middle following Embolo's departure. He is picked out in the middle, but his touch lets him down before he can pull the trigger.
Havertz is set free down the left, the youngster elects to feed Bellarabi, but the Bayer midfielder is crowded out.
So, so comfortable for Leverkusen. Gladbach offering very little as an attacking force.
Thuram tries to make a foray forward down the left for the home side but he is fouled.
Great possession still for the visitors. Gladbach just cannot get the ball at the moment.
The opener...
Long range effort from Jonas Hofmann is always heading over the top for the hosts.
Early change for the home side, with Breel Embolo going off injured, replaced by Lars Stindl.
All the ball with Leverkusen still. Super, flowing football from front to back.
And yes, he isn't even a striker...
What a talent this boy is. One chance, one goal. His movement is causing the hosts all kinds of problems.
Thirteen goals for the season for the 20-year-old, who showed great composure to collect the throughpass before calmly finding the net. The watching scouts will be mightily impressed. Lovely pass from Karim Bellarabi to pick Havertz out.
GOOOOOAAAALLLL!!! Gladbach 0-1 Leverkusen. It had to be him, right? Kai Havertz slots home to give the visitors the lead.
Lovely dancing feet from Kerem Demirbay to get into a shooting position in the box, but he drills straight at the goalkeeper.
Florian Neuhaus makes a dart into the box, goes down under challenge, but there is not even an appeal for a penalty.
KICK OFF! Nice minute's silence complete to remember those lost at this difficult time. Now, we are under way.
The fans have taken their seats early in Gladbach. In all seriousness, today's effort deserves plenty of praise - 13,000 cardboard cutout fans in the stand, with money going to charity.
The weekend's action kicked off last night as four second-half goals from Hertha saw the hosts thrash Union Berlin 4-0 in the Berlin Derby, as Bruno Labbadia maintained his 100 per cent record as manager.
Full house yet?
So now we are back up and running in Germany, where are we at in the title race? Both of these teams have a remote chance of a title tilt, with victory today going a long way to keeping either in with a shout.
All eye are on Kai Havertz today, as he starts up front for the visitors. Leverkusen’s youngest-ever player when he made his Bundesliga debut aged only 16 four years ago, there are eyes all over Europe trained on Havertz as he continues his rise from precocious upstart to Germany’s next big thing.
