It's all Bayern again. They're all over Mainz, who are very heavy-legged.
- GoalRobert LewandowskiFC Bayern Munich
GOAL! There's another. Lewandowski, off a Muller pick out. Brilliantly found by the raumdeuter off the right, and the Pole on the volley double his tally, and trebles the Bayern cushion. 5-2.

- OffJonathan Burkardt1. FSV Mainz 05

Quaison! Another shot for the visitors after a decent counter, but nothing doing. Meanwhile, Mateta is on.
A brilliant drive from Davies is saved well by Dahmen! Corner, in from Sane, but nothing doing. Mainz throw.
- Goal by penaltyRobert LewandowskiFC Bayern Munich
PENALTY! Gnabry cutting in off the left, and Barreiro chopping the German down. It's all going wrong for Mainz now.
- OffJonathan Burkardt1. FSV Mainz 05
- OnJean-Philippe Mateta1. FSV Mainz 05
Onisiwo is on for Boetius.
- GoalNiklas SüleFC Bayern Munich
GOAL!!!! Oooohh they've finally done it! No doubt about that! Niklas Sule with the strike, little ricochet, no chance for Dahwen, and the substitute makes it Bayern 3-2 Mainz! They've finally turned it around, for real this time!
Punched away by Dahmen. Another corner.
67% possession for the hosts. Yikes. Mainz have got to hold out here. Corner Bayern.
Oof! A close effort from Barreiro at the right end this time, a half volley flashes wide of the near post. Mainz are done yet!
Bayern corner out by Hack and Boetius.. more pressure now from the champions.
NO! HANG ON! Davies is offside! No goal! We remain level!!
GOAL! Further sustained pressure from Bayern. Knocking the ball about nicely, moving their opponents from right to left, searching for an opening... and it's 3-2! Barreiro the unlucky culprit, putting it past his own keeper sliding in to try and cut out a Davies cost. That's what champions do, and they lead 3-2.
Free kick for Mainz. In from Brosinski, but nodded away by Goretzka.
- Yellow cardDavid AlabaFC Bayern Munich
A yellow card for David Alaba, cynically chopping down the onrushing Boetius, who had passed him well.
Another Tolisso chance! Gnabry picks up on a Hack misplaced pass, picking out Muller, who floats it to the Frenchman at the back post, but the finish is tame and claimed by Dahmen.
OFF THE BAR! Oh! What an effort! Quaison so unlucky, as he rattles Manuel Neuer's crossbar, taking it first time on the half volley!
It's all about the hosts now; Mainz are desperately trying to harry and contain them, but the home side are producing wave after wave of attacking creativity as they seek to turn the game on its head.
- GoalLeroy SanéFC Bayern Munich
GOAL! Oooohhhh! What a response, not just from Bayern in general, but Sane after his big miss! Driving in off the right flank, Mainz can't keep up with him, and he flashes it inside the goalkeeper's near post with a ferocious drive. What a response from the champions.
CLOSE! A wonderfully-worked move from Muller and Kimmich, and an air shot from Sane should have made it level! Mainz are suddenly all over the place!
Nodded away by Hack, and a low Kimmich cross is easily mopped up. Burkhardt has lost out holding up the play, and Bayern's attacking wave comes again.
Mainz need to calm down and regroup here. Bayern are right on top of them now, looking to build upon an excellent start to the second half. Corner, earned by Muller.
- GoalJoshua KimmichFC Bayern Munich
GOAL! A melee at the back for Mainz, capitalised upon by Kimmich! A great run from the right-back, the nutmeg and floated cross, Gnabry floats it back the other way, and through a Lewandowski flick, Kimmich is there at the far post to nod home.
A Muller cross results in an initial blocked Lewandowski shot, and the Poland international commits the foul trying to turn Edmilson Fernandes.
Off the post from Latza! Incredible! Could've been three!
Kimmich is in the right-back berth, and Sule has moved to centre-back.
Early pressure from Bayern with the corner, not yet away... but it's hacked clear by Mwene down the left, but Boetius can't hold possession up.

- 2nd Half
Here we go again.
- End of 1st Half
Another Bayern attack breaks down, a Lewandowski flick around the defender doesn't work and dribbles into the hands of Dahmen. Mainz deserve this, outrunning them and outplaying them. They've run four kilometres further than their hosts, and there goes halfway. Back in 15.
- GoalAlexander Hack1. FSV Mainz 05
GOAL!!! It's two! It was fizzed in beautifully, and Alex Hack has flicked it home to double the lead! A lovely delivery from Brosinski, and Muller loses his man and the defender has made the cushion two goals!
Free kick for Burkhardt. A push from Boateng this time.
Dahmen makes himself known with an authoritative claim above Robert Lewandowski.
This is so impressive from Mainz thus far. Men are flying forward; pressing high, forcing Bayern to either go back or try and play through their rigid diamond shape.
Again, more slick passing from the home side, but Latza intercepts, releasing Boetius, who can slide it into Quaison, a couple of stepovers... a finesse shot ... Neuer saves. Could have been two.
Oooohh... lovely passing play from Bayern, worked wide by Gnabry into the wide right half space to Pavard, and the Frenchman tries to initiate an intricate pattern of flicks between Kimmich and Gnabry, but Mainz defend resolutely again.
CLOSE! A fiercely struck Lewandowski shot is well saved by Dahmen, Bayern corner... dealt with comfortably by Mainz again, Latza onto it.
How can the hosts react? They need to play with even more fluidity and freedom, and they've fallen behind in the Bundesliga for the eight game running.
- Yellow cardJérôme BoatengFC Bayern Munich
Jerome Boateng is booked for his protests, the goal stands. Bayern are behind, shockingly. Mainz fully deserve this.
- GoalJonathan Burkardt1. FSV Mainz 05
GOAL! It's been a really impressive first half an hour for the visitors. And they've scored! A quick-fire counter, and Burkhardt slams it home! A long ball forward from Latza, Boateng claims he's been shoved, and the striker bears down on Manuel Neuer, and scores his first goal of the season. What a start for Mainz!
CLOSE! A lovely run in behind by Barreiro, found by the Swede Quaison with a cute chip over the top, but Neuer clatters him and gets the benefit of the doubt with the foul for the hosts.
More neat play from Bayern. cutting through the lines, spreading it wide for Muller, whose cross results in a corner after a blocked Sane shot. It's dealt with by the visitors, and Bayern come again with another attacking phase.
Another Tolisso chance - great work down the left by Gnabry, and the Frenchman scuffs it into the grateful gloves of Dahmen off Davies' cut back.
Loose from Latza and capitalised upon by Sane, but Tolisso wastes the passing play and Mainz can recycle the ball, can they? No, the hosts back on it.
Another counter attack for Mainz after a loose pass from Tolisso... the home side are very open at the back, really pushing the wing-backs high; and Burkhardt and Quaison are causing problems against the two central defenders.
Nodded away and the counter attack led by Muller... Davies... Sane... given away and Mainz are away... the shot from range by Latza down the throat of Neuer.
Robin Quaison over the set play... and it's off the wall and out for a corner. Pressure still on.
Free kick carelessly given away on the edge of the area by Corentin Tolisso. Chance for the visitors here !
It's a compact defensive shape for the visitors - especially through the middle: Latza is sat on Thomas Muller, with Boetius concentrating on pressing Kimmich and Tolisso. The two strikers are intensifying their pressure onto the two centre halves, and they're playing especially bravely. If they were Leeds United, everyone would be praising them here.
CLOSE! Really nicely worked through the gears from right to left, Sane steering play out to Gnabry, and his cut back is drilled wide off the left boot of Tolisso. The Frenchman should have done better with that!
A brilliant sliding block from Edmilson Fernandes off another Gnabry shot, and it's hacked away to safety, but Jan Siewart's men are working incredibly hard and are indeed playing well here.
This is better from Bayern. Neatly worked down the left by Davies and Gnabry, but the German winger's shot is comfortably held by Dahmen.
Taken short and whipped in by Kimmich, but nodded away at the near post.
Corner, Bayern, won by Alphonso Davies.
POST! So close, Leroy Sane! A left-footed strike across the young Dahmen, hitting the foot of the far post, and scrambled into the gloves of the debutant goalkeeper.
Mainz have started really boldly here - the two strikers Quaison and Burkardt are working hard off the ball; in the attacking and defensive transitions, looking to press the centre backs and stretch them into dangerous pockets, creating space for the marauding Boetius.
Bayern are trying to calm themselves down here; they're shaken visibly by that early opening for the visitors.
Quick passing patterns from the home side here, but the visitors are being brave - they're trying to sit on the hosts' key players... and a break here, Burkardt slid in by Boetius... and saved by Neuer! A real chance for Mainz!
Immediately it's a four-man backline for the visitors. Mwene is at left-back; with Brosinski at right-back. It's a 4-1-2-1-2 diamond, with Boetius as the CAM, and Latza as the six.
- 1st Half
The young goalkeeper, Finn Dahmen, makes his debut for Mainz, as the game begins. Lewandowski will be licking his lips.
Slight delay with the kick off here. Players are out.
Five minutes to kick off. Five minutes.
Mainz are looking to bounce back from their recent home defeat to Werder Bremen, losing in the last minute to leave them deep in 17th; five points from safety - their next three opponents are all in the top eight - so it will be even more difficult for the relegation strugglers, even if they do win or even draw here.
The benches looks like this: Bayern: Nubel, Richards, Musiala, Hernandez, Sule, Dantas, Choupo-Moting, Goretzka, Costa /// Mainz: Stoger, Mateta, Onisiwo, Bell, Lavalee, Liesegang, Szalai, Papela.
Kingsley Coman may be out of the squad tonight, but if Thomas Muller creates a goal tonight, he'll move to clear top spot of the assists table.
Mainz's top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta is on the bench for the visitors, and could hit 10 goals he if were to net a hat-trick himself.
If Robert Lewandowski scores a hat-trick today, he'll reach 20 goals for the league season already. Incredible.
Should Bayern win today as expected, they'll return to the top of the table, with two points over their closest challengers RB Leipzig.
Mainz, meanwhile, will presumably drop deep into a 5-4-1 shape off the ball; seeking to contain Bayern and their attacking quality. Alex Hack in the centre of the back three will be tasked with man-marking Lewandowksi, whilst the wider central defenders, Jerry St Juste and Dan Brosinski, will double up with their respective wing-backs, Philipp Mwene and Leandro Barreiro, on the home side's wingers and particularly their pace in behind, seeking to draw St Juste and Brosinski into positions they'd rather not find themselves in.
Bayern will be confident here against a struggling Mainz, and their lineup suggests that they're looking to attack the game: Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry will be direct dribblers on the flanks, with Thomas Muller roaming as the 10 behind the focal point of the attack, Robert Lewandowski. Benjamin Pavard could operate slightly higher from his right-back berth, but it should be Alphonso Davies pushing the further of the two full-backs. Kimmich will orchestrate phases of play from deep, with Tolisso the more aggressive ball-winner, seeking to get into the box late with his physicality and aerial ability, despite being only 5'11".
And the visitors are in a 3-4-2-1 system: Dahmen, St Juste, Hack, Brosinski, Mwene, Latza, Fernandes, Barreiro, Quaison, Boetius, Burkardt.
The home side are in a 4-2-3-1 shape: Neuer, Pavard, Boateng. Alaba, Davies, Kimmich, Tolisso, Sane, Muller, Gnabry, Lewandowsi.
Teams in just a second.
