Sadio Mane scored twice as Bayern Munich destroyed VfL Bochum to maintain their 100% start to the Bundesliga season. Fellow summer signing Matthijs de Ligt also notched as Julian Nagelsmann’s side ran riot. Leroy Sane grabbed the opener while Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry were also on target. Bochum defender Cristian Gamboa also put the ball into his own net on a day to forget for the hosts.

Modric 'immortal' says Real Madrid coach Ancelotti after win at Celta Vigo

Bayern Munich continued their relentless start to the Bundesliga season by demolishing Bochum on Sunday afternoon.
Leroy Sane opened the scoring with a brilliant curling effort after four minutes with Matthijs de Ligt heading home on his debut to make it two before the half-hour mark.
Kingsley Coman slid in from close range eight minutes later and before half-time the France winger slipped through Sadio Mane to make it four at the break.
Coman was brought down for a spot-kick in the 58th minute which Mane converted, Cristian Gamboa put through his own net and Bayern substitute Serge Gnabry crashed home a low drive from the edge of the box to seal the rout.
The result sees Bayern retain their perfect start to the league campaign and take their customary place at the summit of the table, with Bochum - conversely - rooted to the foot with no points and just three goals from their first three games.

TALKING POINT

Coman to fill Robben hole on right? - As dominant as Bayern have been over the last four years, they have not been able to replicate the danger on the right flank carried by Arjen Robben in his storied decade at the club. To reach the same level as the devastating Dutch dribbler might be a tall ask - he surely takes a spot in an all-time Bayern side after all - but Coman looks the best creative force for Bayern in this position and it may just be the role to get the most out of the talented forward if he avoids injuries, which have dogged his career thus far. It will always be tempting to play him on the left, but now with Mane cutting in from that side, the Senegalese's through-balls are just as likely to provide assists.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich) - It was Leroy Sane who started the match on fire with his early goal (set up by Coman admittedly) and the ex-Man City winger could have had a hat-trick before the half-hour mark, but his fellow forward Coman pipped him for top honours. The Frenchman's ability to dribble inside, play through-balls in either direction and also run behind and go for goal or create for others, meant he was an offensive menace Bochum couldn't handle.

59' GOAL FOR BAYERN! Mane sends Riemann the wrong way from the spot.
