Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero has renewed his contract with the Italian champions until June 2008, the club announced on Thursday. The player's five-year deal, heavily advertised in several newspapers, is worth 7.9 million a year, including 2.3 mi

"A knight never leaves a Lady," trumpeted the ad in La Gazzetta dello Sport, playing on Juventus's nickname as "The Old Lady" and referring to the Italian international striker's long association with the club.

Del Piero has spent his entire Serie A career with Juve since making his top flight debut against Foggia in 1993.

Career highlights include winning the 1996 Champions League and five Serie A titles.
