Roma boss Fabio Capello has a full squad at his disposal after Vincenzo Montella's recovery from injury and Emerson's return from Brazil after the Christmas break.
Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has a slightly trickier task to select his starting line-up, and may gamble on the fitness of Alessandro Nesta.
Nesta - who missed Milan's Intercontinental Cup defeat to Boca Juniors following a knee operation - may be risked in central defence for the encounter, but striker Filippo Inzaghi is unlikely to play.
Kakhaber Kaladze is out after being sent off in the 2-1 home defeat against Udinese last month, but Serie A top scorer Andrïy Shevchenko - with 12 goals so far this season - will be fit to play.
