What we know about Dortmund blasts: Bartra, police officer injured by 'serious devices'

The Borussia Dortmund team bus was rocked by explosions which injured defender Marc Bartra and a police officer on Tuesday night, forcing the postponement of their game against Monaco.

The explosions went off just after 6pm UK time. By 7:30pm it was confirmed that the match had been called off, and postponed for 5:45pm on Wednesday.
The Champions League quarter-final will go ahead on Wednesday, a day late, after Bartra was hospitalised in an incident which shocked football.
Here is what we know about what transpired.

What happened?

Police said of the incident that there were "three explosions near the team bus as [Dortmund] left the hotel to go to the stadium".

When did this happen?

The explosions went off just after 6pm UK time. By 7:30pm it was confirmed that the match had been called off, and postponed for 5:45pm on Wednesday.

Who was hurt?

Right-back Marc Bartra was taken to hospital with an injured hand, and underwent surgery for a broken bone in his right wrist and shrapnel in his arm. It later transpired a police officer was also injured, as reported by . The officer, who has been treated for trauma and shock, was accompanying the team bus to the stadium on a motorcycle.

How is Bartra?

Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says his injuries are “nothing life-threatening”.
Dortmund later confirmed he was undergoing surgery for a broken bone in his hand.

What else have police revealed?

Watzke says he has been told by police that the devices which exploded were placed by the exit of the hotel Dortmund were staying in.
Police said late on Tuesday night that they are “working on the assumption” that “serious explosive devices” were behind the blasts.

What we don’t know

Who carried out at the attack, and why - but German authorities arrested a suspected Islamist on Wednesday in connection with the attack.
