Fernando Llorente's first goal for Tottenham helps Mauricio Pochettino’s second-string easily overcame Apoel Nicosia to end Group H on a high.
Spurs finish top of Group H and will look forward to Monday's last 16 draw. Meanwhile, Apoel will miss out on the Europa League.
Three minutes will be added on.
- OffDele AlliTottenham Hotspur
- OnKazaiah SterlingTottenham Hotspur
Kazaiah Sterling makes his debut for Spurs as he replaces Alli for the last couple of minutes.
Real Madrid have taken the lead against Dortmund - it is now 3-2 at the Bernabeu. As it stands: Tottenham - 16, Real Madrid - 13, Dortmund - 2, Apoel 2.
The draw for the last 16 of the Champions League takes place on Monday - and as winners of Group H, Spurs should be handed an easier draw.
- Yellow cardJesús RuedaAPOEL Nicosia
Rueda is booked for a late challenge on Nkoudou.
- OffMichael PotéAPOEL Nicosia
- OnMinas AntoniouAPOEL Nicosia
Third and final change by the visitors: Minas Antoniou takes the place of Pote.
It appears Alli is finally going to be substituted. The 21-year-old hasn't been great, to be honest, but he hasn't looked 100 per cent fit.
- GoalGeorges-Kévin N'KoudouTottenham Hotspur
GOAL! Tottenham 3-0 Apoel.
Curse of the commentator as Spurs grab another! Nkoudou bursts into the penalty area and hammers a shot at goal. It takes a deflection off the captain Morais and ends up in the back of the net to complete a productive night's work for Pochettino's fringe players.
Spurs are keeping possession very comfortably in midfield and defence at the moment. They are showing no ambition to grab a third.
- OffEfstathios AloneftisAPOEL Nicosia
- OnIgor De CamargoAPOEL Nicosia
Apoel make another change: Igor De Camargo replaces Stathis Aloneftis.
Next up for Spurs is a home match with Stoke on Saturday as Pochettino's side attempt to get their Premier League campaign back on track. They have won only once in their last six games domestically.
Llorente has been Spurs' best player this evening, but he is hobbling a little now. The Spaniard may be replaced sooner rather than later.
There is little happening at Wembley as we enter the final 20 minutes. The large number of visiting supporters have been silenced by their side's inept performance, while Spurs look rather bored.
- OffDanny RoseTottenham Hotspur
- OnKyle Walker-PetersTottenham Hotspur
Rose is replaced by Kyle Walker-Peters as Pochettino makes his second change of the evening.
- Yellow cardDanny RoseTottenham Hotspur
And now Rose goes into the book for a shove on Sallai after a coming together. The Apoel player is also shown a yellow card for his part in the embarrassing episode.
Spurs have enjoyed 64 per cent of possession in the second period.
- OffHeung-Min SonTottenham Hotspur
- OnMousa DembéléTottenham Hotspur
Son leaves the field to a standing ovation as he is replaced by Mousa Dembele.
- Yellow cardSerge AurierTottenham Hotspur
Aurier is the first player this evening to receive a booking for a nasty high challenge on Aloneftis. The replay shows he is perhaps fortunate not be shown a straight red.
Nkoudou is released by Alli's path on the left side of the Apoel box. His first touch sets him up for a shot, but Perez gets down low to make the stop.
It is a good effort by Rose, but he fails to keep his free-kick effort down and the ball drifts narrowly over the bar.
Alli is hacked down by Ebecilio and now Spurs have a free-kick, 25 yards out. Rose is over the ball...
The visitors make a mess of attempting to clear Rose's cross and it falls to Llorente on the penalty spot, but he loses his footing at the crucial moment.
Lago picks out Ebecilio on the edge of the box with a clever pass. However, the Apoel forward can only hack it high and wide.
Morais stands off Nkoudou as he approaches the edge of the box but does well to deflect the Spurs' midfielder's shot out for a corner.
Apoel are at least now showing some fight after a lacklustre performance in the first period.
Pote controls a long ball but then goes down in the box under a challenge by Foyth. He appeals for a penalty but the referee isn't interested.
Pinball inside the Spurs box and the ball falls kindly for Vourous whose unloads a powerful low drive destined for the bottom corner. It takes a deflection off Rose though and is diverted behind.
Goal alert: Dortmund have come from two goals down to equalise at the Bernabeu in the other game in Group H.
Apoel now need a minor miracle to leapfrog the Bundesliga side into third.
- 2nd Half
The second half is underway and Alli is still on the pitch, despite the fact he limped his way through the first period.
We are also hearing that Pote approached Alli at half time to swap shirts - and Alli obliged. Unforgivable.
- OffViniciusAPOEL Nicosia
- OnRoland SallaiAPOEL Nicosia
Apoel make a change at the break, as Roland Sallai replaces Vinicius
- End of 1st Half
Tottenham's second-string comfortably lead at the break, thanks to goals from Llorente - his first for the club - and Son.
There will be little, if any, additional time played at the end of a one sided first-half.
Llorente and Son link up well once more as the former knocks the ball down for the latter who has a crack from 25 yards and Perez is forced to parry the effort behind for a corner.
Alli works his way into the visitors' penalty box but ends up on the ground under the challenge of Lago. Never a foul, though.
Tottenham haven't moved out of second gear - but they haven't had to. Even their second string is far superior to Apoel.
Aloneftis picks out Pote at the back post, but the Apoel forward sends his header high and straight into the arms of Vorm.
- GoalHeung-Min SonTottenham Hotspur
GOAL! Tottenham 2-0 Apoel.
A lovely goal from Son. He tricks his way past a couple of Apoel defenders on the edge of the box before passing to Llorente. The Spaniard plays a cushioned exchange pass and Son curls a first-time shot into the corner of the net.
Apoel are enjoying a spell of possession now, but they can't create an opening. Aloneftis tries to pick out a team mate with a low cross but Sanchez clears.
OFF THE MARK
A long ball over the top of the Spurs defence almost releases Ebecilio but Rose does enough to put the Apoel forward off his stride.
Again Rose lifts a cross into the danger area but only Llorente is in the Apoel penalty box and the visitors survive.
Alli tries a clever back heel to find Nkoudou but it is intercepted. It is only a matter of time before Spurs recover possession though. There is just no way out for Apoel at the moment.
Llorente is afforded far too much space to float a cross into the Apoel box. Sissoko rises highest but fails to generate the power needed to beat Perez who catches with ease.
Rose receives the ball on the overlap but his low cross is poor and easily dealt with by the visitors.
Llorente is left unmarked at the corner but he can't quite reach the corner delivery and Apoel scramble the ball clear.
Spurs spread the ball wide to Nkoudou who shows quick feet as he attempts to go past his marker but can only win a corner.
It has only taken him 17 appearances...
As it stands, Dortmund will finish third in Group H. Apoel will now need at least a draw, but Spurs are in total control and will be in no mood to surrender their lead.
- GoalFernando LlorenteTottenham Hotspur
GOAL! Tottenham 1-0 Apoel.
Llorente is off the mark for Spurs with a well taken goal. Aurier's low cross is slightly behind the Spaniard, but he controls beautifully with his right foot to kill the ball and stabs it home with his left.
The corner finds Foyth at the near post, but the Spurs man cannot direct his header on target.
Aurier curls an inviting ball across the Apoel six-yard box towards Llorente. It isn't half convincing by Apoel but Perez does enough to turn it behind for a Spurs corner.
Spurs are dominating possession but they are playing at a snail's pace. Apoel are content to sit deep and defend their way to a nil-nil draw.
There are quite a number of empty seats at Wembley, but the visiting supporters are making enough noise for both sets of fans.
And now Cristiano Ronaldo makes it 2-0 at the Bernabeu. Apoel will be desperate to cling on to a priceless point at Wembley this evening.
Real Madrid are now 1-0 up at home to Borussia Dortmund in the other game in Group H. Obviously Spurs still remain top, but as it stands Apoel will claim the Europa League spot.
OFF THE LINE!
Winks' free-kick delivery causes major panic in the visitors' penalty box as his cross meets the head of Llorente. The goalkeeper makes a good stop and then it is simply brilliant defending by Rueda as the Apoel defender blocks N'Koudou's shot on the line! Sanchez then glances his header wide.
Son makes a late run into the box untracked and latches onto Llorente's knock down. However, Apoel's skipper nips in at the crucial moment to take the ball off his toe.
Alli does brilliantly to flick the ball past Vourous on the by-line but is then clipped by the Apoel defender and the referee doesn't spot the foul. Alli slams the ground in frustration, but he won't get his free-kick.
This is a perfect opportunity for Alli to rediscover his best form. He has seen plenty of the ball in the early stages.
Pochettino may have directed his players to shoot on sight as Son unloads an effort from distance but it takes a deflection and Spurs have a corner.
Spurs are clearly intent on getting on the scoresheet early on and they go close to doing so. Aurier rifles a low right-footed effort at goal from 20 yards but it whistles inches wide of the far post.
- 1st Half
Wembley is barely half full, but this is a chance for those in attendance to see Spurs attempt to get back to winning ways.
The players are out on the pitch and it is time for the Champions League anthem.
In the so called 'group of death', who would have thought Spurs would have sealed their progress to the latter stages with a game to spare?
LAST TIME OUT
Tottenham shocked Europe by stunning Real Madrid 3-1 back on November 1 but instead of such a remarkable result spurring them on to greater things, Spurs have been lacklustre. They have won only once since - a narrow 1-0 victory over struggling Crystal Palace.
This is the second competitive meeting between Tottenham and Apoel after the English side's 3-0 win in Nicosia back in September.
Who can impress Pochettino this evening?
Alli is starting tonight as Pochettino wants the England international to return to his brilliant best after an indifferent season.
The 21-year-old did score twice in Tottenham's 3-1 win over Real Madrid but it has generally been a frustrating campaign for Alli.
"I think I am my own biggest critic," Alli said.
"Every time I know when I'm not playing well and if it's not going well for me, it's important that I keep working hard and trying every day to learn and improve as a player.
"It's been a good opportunity for me to learn more about myself as a player and as a person, so I'm looking forward to it and I've got to keep enjoying it."
Tottenham are already guaranteed top spot in the group due to their superior head-to-head against Real Madrid.
While the result means little to Spurs, Apoel have third place and a spot in the Europa League to play for. A draw may be enough, but only if Dortmund are beaten by Real Madrid. If both teams draw then Dortmund will qualify due to superior goal difference in all matches.
If both teams win, or lose, third spot will be decided on the number of goals scored and conceded in the last two matches.
Spurs make a mass of changes to the side that drew 1-1 at Watford with Michel Vorm captaining the side.
Pochettino clearly wants to rest his charges ahead of the Stoke game on Saturday and so he has handed a number of squad players starts, including Juan Foyth, George Nkoudou and Fernando Llorente. Dele Alli keeps his place.
