Cristiano Ronaldo makes his Champions League debut for Juventus as they take on Valencia at the Mestalla in their Group G match.
Ronaldo, the leading scorer in Champions League history, makes his first appearance in the competition since leaving Real Madrid to join Juventus for €105 million.
He is joined in attack by Federico Bernardeschi and Mario Mandzukic, but Paulo Dybala has to settle for a spot on the bench.
Losing finalists in 2000 and 2001, Valencia are returning to the Champions League for the first time in three years, and are expected to name Rodrigo at the point of their attack. Full team news to follow.
Ronaldo’s former side Real Madrid begin the defence of their crown against AS Roma at the Bernabéu.
Benzema leads the line, with Gareth Bale and Isco either side. Julen Lopetegui names a customary midfield three of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro.
Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco names a front three of Stephan El Shaarawy, Edin Dzeko and Cengiz Under with summer signing Steven Nzonzi anchoring the midfield, alongside debutant Nicolo Zaniolo.
