The Portuguese international hit a historic hat-trick to complete a sensational comeback in the last 16 of the Champions League for Juventus.
Spanish media outlet Marca reported that Ronaldo had been "repeatedly telling his close family and friends that Juventus will progress and that he'll score a hat-trick," prior to the match.
The 34-year-old delivered on his own prediction and rounded off his hat-trick in the 86th minute with a decisive penalty to send Juve through to the quarter-final stage of the elite European competition.
Following the match, the five-time Champions League winner was reminded by the media that the Bianconeri had never progressed after losing the first leg of a Champions League away tie 2-0.
He replied, "Maybe that's why Juventus signed me".
The draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League is on Friday 15 March.
