When Liverpool splashed out £75 million for the services of Virgil van Dijk people derided the fee, saying it was massively over-paying for a centre-half.
Those critics look pretty silly now...
Van Dijk has turned Liverpool's defence into one of the meanest in Europe and he was at his brilliant best as the Reds beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in Germany on Wednesday night.
The Dutchman kept Robert Lewandowski quiet and he caused chaos in the other box, scoring a powerful header and setting up Sadio Mane for the opener. with a beautiful ball over the top.
Is there anything he can't do?
Fans certainly don't think so!
