Neymar has demanded that the referee in charge of PSG’s 1-1 draw with Napoli is punished after he said something ‘disrespectful’.
The Brazil star, who was booked as his team was denied victory by Lorenzo Insigne’s 62nd minute strike in Italy after going ahead through Juan Bernat, was left fuming after the match following the exchange with Bjorn Kuipers.
"The referee told me something he should not have," Neymar to ESPN. "It was disrespectful.
I do not want to repeat what he said to me. However, somebody high up should do something.
It is still not clear exactly what was said, and when it took place, but the 26-year-old saw yellow when he was waiting to take a free-kick with Marco Verratti.
Neymar was also restrained at one point by team-mate Kylian Mbappe as he appeared to have an angry exchange with the experienced Kuipers.
"He cannot be as disrespectful as he was with me," Neymar added.
"On the pitch, we are asked to show respect towards the referees. We should get the same in return."
