Paulo Dybala nets hat-trick as Juve maintain perfect start

Paulo Dybala hit a hat-trick as Juventus maintained their 100% record in the Champions League courtesy of a 3-0 win against BSC Young Boys.
The hosts were without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo but Dybala, who has made a slow start to the season, hit a superb hat-trick to ensure that Massimiliano Allegri’s men travel to Manchester United in late October with six points from two games.
Juventus, who are unbeaten in their last 19 Champions League group stage home games, needed only five minutes to get on the scoreboard.
Leonardo Bonucci brilliantly circumvented Young Boys’ disciplined back line with an aerial ball that picked out Dybala’s run in the box. The Argentine dispatched a superb volley for his first continental goal of the season.
The Swiss visitors responded well, offering some danger on the counter, but Dybala doubled Juve’s tally with 33 minutes gone. Blaise Matuidi’s powerful shot from outside the box was parried into his path for a simple finish.
Dybala completed his first ever hat-trick at Juventus Stadium in the second half, after latching onto Juan Cuadrado’s unselfish pass in the six-yard box.
Young Boys mostly stayed disciplined throughout the second half—with striker Guillame Hoarau managing his side’s single attempt on goal—but ultimately they lacked the quality to match a resplendent Juventus side.
The Bern side’s evening was tainted, however, when 21-year-old defender Mohamed Aly Camara was sent off for two needless yellow cards in quick succession.
When the competition recommences later this month, Juventus will visit Manchester United—with Ronaldo available for selection—and Young Boys will host Valencia in search of their first point.

TALKING POINT: Can Juventus go all the way in the competition?
In what may be one of the most open Champions League fields in years, Juve are looking like solid contenders. The Italians, who have been to two of the last four finals, have added Cristiano Ronaldo to their ranks and look as strong as ever in all areas.
A lot can change between now and the climax of the season, but with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in less-than-optimal form, the Old Lady are primed to finally go that final step and lift the trophy for the first time since 1996.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Paolo Dybala
Alex Sandro enjoyed an excellent evening on the left flank, but Dybala was the clear standout talent for the hosts. Clearly thriving in the absence of Ronaldo, the Argentine was the biggest threat from Juve’s highly potent attack.
