There wasn't too much to write home about in the opening 45 - here's to hoping the action picks up from now on!

  • End of 1st Half

Edin Dzeko was denied the only really significant chance of the half. Both sides are happy to sit back and counter attack one another - perhaps they will come out of their shells a little more in the second 45.

Dzeko bursts into the box and shows strength to beat his man, but it penalised for a foul on Alex Telles.

Dzeko's chance actually appeared to be parried onto the post by Casillas. A slight touch - but an important one.

Dzeko really should have converted from that position, though.

Roma have ventured further into the final third, but Porto have had 53% of possession this far.

Fazio plays an excellent long ball to Dzeko in space in the box! The Bosnian cuts inside, beats his man and sees his close-range shot saved by Casillas!

That's the best chance of the game so far.

Roma win a corner. Pellegrini's outswinger is headed over the bar by Dzeko. Another mistimed jump!

Roma win a free kick on the right, around 35 yards from goal. Pellegrini swings it in and Manolas is inches away from connecting for a header! The Greek defender slightly mistimed his jump.

Roma have threatened a few times but there's not been a lot of goalmouth action thus far. Porto will be pleaed by the way they've kept the hosts at bay thus far.

El Sharaawy gives Perieria a shove from behind and the defemder takes exception. The referee steps in to calm things down.

The Serbian is proving to be Roma's biggest attacking threat thus far.

Porto earn a free kick around 40 yards from goal. Alex Telles launches it 20 yards over the bar - you won't see a worse free kick than that tonight.

The ball goes out of play. Replays suggest the ball hits Pepe's arm, but it may be outside the box. VAR appears to have decided it is not a penalty and play continues.

The teams are megering from the tunnel and kick-off is minutes away!

Roma have not been beaten at home since October, which was also the last time Porto lost an away trip. We may see a fairly even affair between two sides who will have been happy to draw one another at this stage of the competition.

There are 4,300 travelling fans at the Stadio Olimpico tonight, who will have to work hard to compete with the noise on the Curva Sud.

Porto manager Sergio Conceicao is familiar with tonight's venue, having been a part of Lazio's Serie A-winning side of 2000.

"Obviously entering this stadium brings back memories of happy years and the many titles I won at Lazio. It's always emotional coming to Rome, but my focus is this game."

Roma manager Eusebio di Francesco: "There are only two Italian sides left. We are proud to be one of them. We have to aim high. This game is a great chance to produce a big performance and bring back some enthusiasm."

Roma reached the semifinals last season, where Liverpool ended their journey. Their only appearance in the final came in 1984, when it was also Liverpool who denied them.

Roma's goalkeeper Antonio Mirante has only played two games this season. The 35-year-old nearly retired in August 2016 when pre-season tests showed heart irregularities. He was signed from Bologna for €4m at the start of this campaign.

These two sides last met in the qualification round of 2016-17. The first leg was a 1-1 draw in Portugal before Porto emerged 3-0 winners at the Stadio Olimpico.

Can Porto pull off a similar away victory tonight?

Around 50,000 fans are expected at the Stadio Olimpico and the Portuguese have turned up in full voice...
