FULL TIME

It's over. It looked like SPurs had wrapped up three points, but they let the hosts back into this one and paid the price.

90+5'

After lagging for most of the second half, Inter have absolutely turned this game upside down.

The equaliser definitely revitalised them.

90+3'

Absolutely no one was marking Vecino in the six-yard box. That's poor defending.

That was Icardi's first shot on target of the night.

Quite what he was doing on the edge of the 18-yard box during an attack is anyone's guess, but it worked!

HALF TIME

The referee blows up with no stoppage time.

Inter have looked the better side and dominated for periods, but Spurs had the best chance with Harry Kane's one-on-one that he really should have buried.

Lamela swings it in, but Kane is penalised for an overhead kick attempt that was deemed to be dangerous.

40'

The last time Tottenham faced Inter at the San Siro, they were 4-0 down after 35 minutes.

So this is a marked improvement.

40'

Tottenham should be one up - a confident and fit Kane would have converted the chance put on a platter for him by a sublime ball from Eriksen.

Sanchez is booked for a slide on Nainggolan and he gives away a dangerous free kick around 25 yards from goal.

37'

CHANCE!

Eriksen beautifully lifts the ball over the Inter back line and it falls at the feet of Harry Kane. He's one-on-one with the 'keeper and tries to go round him... but the ball rolls away from him.

Nine times out of 10 Kane would tuck that away!

36'

Son puts in a dangerous low cross which is deflected away by De Vrij!

35'

Vertonghen fluffs his lines on a clearance in the box and the ball falls to Nainggolan. Sanchez clears the subsequent effort and Spurs get away with it.

Tottenham's biggest issue tonight has been sloppiness and needlessly giving away the ball.

32'

Politano swings in a corner with pace, but no one touches it and it goes out for a goal kick.

It's been a fairly even tie so far, without any truly significant threats on goal.

30'

Vecino brings down Aurier for a free kick around 45 yards from goal. Eriksen puts it in the mixer but Sanchez's weak header is easily recovered by Handonovic.

29'

Lamela's corner is claimed by the 'keeper but the ref blows up for a foul in the box, likely committed by Sanchez.

28'

Dier lanuches a ball into Harry Kane in the box, but it's put out for a corner...

26'

CHANCE!

23'

During a tough tackle between Dembele and Brozovic, the ball pops!

A new one is pinged in.

21'

Eriksen whips in the resultant free kick from the edge of the area, but Handanovic claims it.

18'

You don't hear it sung like this at the Etihad...

17'

Spurs win their first corner via Lamela. It's taken short and Eriksen's eventual cross is cleared.

16'

Another corner for Inter. Brozovic takes it short and Politano's cross lands in Vorm's gloves.

12'

CHANCE!

Eriksen's placed free kick is parried away by Handanovic!

12'

Lamela is shoved to the ground by Brozovic for a free kick around 35 yards from goal.

It's the visitors' first opportunity at goal...

11'

An embarrassment for Ben Davies, who miscontrols on the right flank and puts the ball out of play with little poressure on him.

10'

Another corner for Inter. Brozovic swings it in and Harry Kane heads it 30 yards - a great clearance.

8'

The corner lands in open space and is hit wildly into the stands by Nainggolan.

8'

Asamoah finds Perisic with a chipped ball down the left flank, but the ball is out out for a corner by Aurier.

6'

Dembele pumps it back to Sanchez, who miscontrols it, but is able to chase down the loose ball before any Inter shirts get near it.

4'

Icardi gets in behind the Spurs backline, but the offside trap catches him.

It's a close call, but the right one.

3'

Perisic pushes down the left and finds Nainggolan, who is flagged,

2'

FYI: Inter haven't won in their last four home competitive games.

2'

Tottenham are playing a back three while Inter have surprisingly opted for a four.

1'

IT'S GO TIME AT THE SAN SIRO!

French referee Clement Turpin pips his whistle and Eriksen takes the first touch.

17.53

The teams are on the pitch, the mascots are wearing silly shirts and we're nearly ready to go!

17.50

These two sides have met on four occasions.

Those games have averaged 4.75 goals and at least one team in each of those games has scored three or more goals.

17.45

Kick-off is 10 minutes away and it looks like Heung-Min Son has brought his shooting boots!

17.40

Time flies...

17.35

Luciano Spalletti - who has coached in the Champions League with Udinese, Roma and Zenit - is confident:

“I don’t think I have ever had a team with as much quality as the one I have now at Inter. This is a competition you wouldn’t swap for anything in the world. You experience truly wonderful emotions. After you’ve been in it, you can’t go without it.”

17.30
17.25

Pochettino has defended his team selection:

“We have a lot of games coming up. We came from difficult circumstances with the World Cup. We have a plan to give different players a rest in all competitions. In the end no name is more important than another. The most important is the collective. Everyone is available to give their best and, of course, we need to try to give our best.”

He has also had his 'segaulls following the trawler' moment with this beauty:

"It is like a cow that, every day in 10 years, sees the train cross in front at the same time. If you ask the cow, ‘What time is the train going to come?’, it is not going to know the right answer.

"In football, it is the same.”

Right then.

17.20

Why the 17.55 kick-off?

UEFA are trailling two separate kick-off times on Group Stage evenings for the next three seasons. Not only will this allow broadcasters to show more games, but they claim it will be easier on fans in Asia and Australia, who won't have to stay up quite so absurdly late to see their teams in action.

The tl;dr answer: money.

17.15

Naturally, this fixture evokes one phrase in the minds of Spurs fans:

"TAXI FOR MAICON!"

The last time Spurs faced Inter at the San Siro, in 2010-11, Gareth Bale scored a hat-trick in a virtuoso performance. Two weeks later at the Lane, he dazzled once again as he helped his side earn a 3-1 victory over the reigning champions.

17.10

Pochettino has made five changes to his line-up, but Harry Kane remains. It's been a while since the star striker looked fully fit, but evidently Spurs' biggest game of the season so far is not the time for him to be rested.

17.02

TOTTENHAM: Vorm; Aurier, Sánchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Dembélé; Lamela, Eriksen, Son; Kane. Subs: Gazzaniga, Rose, Walker-Peters, Wanyama, Winks, Lucas, Llorente /// INTER MILAN: Handanovic; De Vrij, Miranda, Skriniar; Politano, Vecino, Brozovic, Asamoah; Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi. Subs: Padelli, Berni, Balde Ranocchia, Valero, D'Ambrosio, Candreva

16.58

And here's the XI who will represent Inter in their first Champions League Group Stage game in seven ("SEVEN") years...

16.56

Here's how Spurs will line up.

Hugo Lloris remains sidelines while Dele Alli, Moussa, Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld did not travel.

It's not the full-strength side, but it's solid. It looks to be a 4-2-3-1.
