We're well into three added minutes here.
It looks like Atleti may well have done enough. Far from convincing, though.
Demirbay has been replaced by Alario.
- GoalÁlvaro MorataAtlético Madrid
GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!! Morata nods home Lodi's excellent cross. Badly needed for the hosts. 1-0.
- OffKai HavertzBayer 04 Leverkusen
- OnPaulinhoBayer 04 Leverkusen
Havertz has been pretty absent tonight. He's replaced by Paulinho.
- OffKokeAtlético Madrid
- OnÁlvaro MorataAtlético Madrid
Koke is withdrawn, Alvaro Morata is replacing him.
SAVE! Herrera's effort takes a deflection and is dipping under the bar but Hradecky is there with a brilliant stop.
Costa goes down under a challenge by Sven Bender. Not given, rightly so for me. Trippier's corner is cleared.
- OffÁngel CorreaAtlético Madrid
- OnThomas LemarAtlético Madrid
Correa the man coming off. Lemar needs to change this game.
Free kick from Atleti is met by Felipe, but his volley is blocked by Tah. Looks like Lemar will come on. His creativity and pace is badly needed.
CHANCE! First sighter for Costa, he should do better. Connection on the header from Trippier's cross wasn't enough.
Three crosses from the right for Leverkusen. Lodi caught napping, Hermoso there again. He's been great. Amiri's shot after the corner is cleared is always rising.
- Yellow cardKokeAtlético Madrid
Speaking of Havertz, he's fouled by Koke after a poor touch from the Atleti man. Nasty. He's booked.
So far... nothing new to report. Leverkusen lively with the turnovers but Atleti keeping close tabs on Havertz.
SECOND HALF. Atleti kick us off. No changes for either at the break.
HALF TIME! Not great, this. Leverkusen aren't lying down, but both sides' goalcoring issues are evident. 0-0.
Two added minutes to come.
Thomas is fouled by Lars Bender. Trippier's free kick is poor and Hradecky clears easily.
This game has a lot of promise, little substance. Thomas just hit over.
- Yellow cardKarim BellarabiBayer 04 Leverkusen
Professional foul by Bellarabi on Correa. Yellow card.
Lovely little ball by Bellarabi finds Volland, who looks for a pass but is thwarted by Hermoso again. Corner.
CHANCE! Lodi shoots but it is straight at Hradecky. Should have done better. We're really lacking quality here so far.
Atleti commit forward but don't quite get it right with one too many passes by Costa. Leverkusen's pace is a real threat on the counter, they'll need to take more chances like that tonight.
Five shots in the game so far, four to Leverkusen. Neither has hit the target yet. That tells its own story.
First real involvement for Hermoso, who blocks off Volland after Amiri looked for him with a through ball. Thomas was easily dispossessed in midfield. Atletico need to cut out the sloppy play and find their intensity.
Feels like the home supporters are getting frustrated as Trippiert fouls Amiri, who has been lively. No clear cut chances yet though.
Bellarabi is going to give Lodi a tough evening, but he fouls the fullback after being found by Weiser.
Thomas intercepts a clearance to find Koke, who flicks onto Correa. Hradecky gets there first but fumbles and almost lets Costa in.
Better from Atleti. Lovely play from Lodi allows him to find Thomas, but his pass is too much for Saul. Perhaps Trippier was a better option.
- OffJosé María GiménezAtlético Madrid
- OnMario HermosoAtlético Madrid
Atleti are being forced into an early change here. Gimenez off injured for Mario Hermoso.
Volland gets in behind Trippier and looks for Amiri, but again the visitors are thwarted. Another corner, though. Good start.
Demirbay wins a corner with a shot from distance. It is taken quickly and comes to Baumgartlinger, but his effort sails over the bar.
Again down the right, Leverkusen cross. This time, through Amiri. It is cleared again but Lodi is a weak link being targeted.
Havertz finds a bit of space down the right and gets to the byline. His cross doesn't get past Felipe. Both sides feeling their way into this.
Atleti come forward down the right and win a corner after great work by Hector Herrera. The corner is cleared, though.
That anthem is always spine-tingling! Here we go!
Just over five minutes until kick off! All the stats are pointing to a home win, but neither side is in great shape.
Atletico are ready for tonight!
Here's another great stat for Atletico heading into this game.
Liverpool are in Champions League action at Genk this week. Mohamed Salah is back in the squad after missing Sunday's draw against Manchester United.
Jan Oblak certainly likes this fixture...
It is a new dawn at the Metropolitano this year, and Simeone is struggling to help the transition from organised underdogs to a force going forward. Can Correa give him the spark he needs?
Bayer Leverkusen haven't got a point yet this season, and they'll be licking their wounds after a 3-0 defeat against Juventus last time out. In Kai Havertz, they have their young star fit and ready.
No Felix is interesting for Atleti. He'll be out for a couple of weeks, but Diego Simeone's men are struggling for goals and wins right now. Their last victory came on matchday two away at Lokomotiv. Funnily enough, though, Atleto have scored in every Champions League home game since a 0-0 draw in the last 16 against Bayer in 2017.
Here we are with Leverkusen's line up.
TEAM NEWS! No Joao Felix for Atletico, Angel Correa in up front alongside Diego Costa.
