  • End of 2nd Half
90+6'

And that's full-time! Bayern have the win despite some industrious play from Salzburg and they're through. But even better than that, they top the group as Atletico Madrid were unable to beat Lokomotiv Moscow in Spain tonight.

90+5'

Adeyemi charges through the Bayern half but can't beat Neuer from close range. He was well offside and the flag eventually goes up in any case.

90+1'

We're into six minutes of injury time - surely not enough for Salzburg to launch an unlikely comeback?

89'

Berisha has a go from about 35 yards but his free kick goes well over.

84'

How did that stay out?!

Sucic makes an excellent run to latch on to a fine through ball. As he controls the ball he slips but recovers enough to prod a shot past Neuer, but it drifts agonisingly wide of the post by a matter of centimetres.

81'

Lewandowski showcases some quick feet on the edge of the box, but Stankovic is more than equal to his eventual effort.

80'

Neuer makes a couple of saves from Ulmer and Sucic but neither was truly troubling him.

78'

Surely that's too little too late for Salzburg, even with a man advantage?

76'

That Berisha strike is still being checked by VAR... and given!

NEUER!

This is his second double save of the night. First Berisha's powerful effort is beaten away by the Bayern keeper, who somehow gets up in time to deny Mwepu, who seemed to have a tap in to pull one back.

RED CARD!

Roca's night is over after another late tackle on Junuzovic. It's his second yellow and he's clearly frustrated as he leaves the field.

Do Salzburg have a path back into this match now?

62'

After initially responding well to the second goal, Salzburg look a bit deflated now, with Bayern enjoying more possession and territory.

59'

Confirmation is coming through that Coman's goal has been taken off him and will go down as a Wober own goal.

55'

Salzburg are pushing more men forward now, with Szoboszlai driving one just wide from outside the box.

  • Kingsley Coman
GoalKingsley ComanFC Bayern MunichGOAL! Rotten luck for Salzburg, who now find themselves 2-0 down. Coman dribbles in from the left flank and shoots. It takes a horrible deflection off Wober, which takes it past Stankovic.

51'

A good ball from Kristensen feeds Berisha, who shoots but there's nowhere near enough power on that to trouble Neuer.

50'

Szoboszlai has the chance to make amends for his earlier miss with a free kick from just outside the box but it flies over. It was never coming down in time.

48'

The second booking of the day goes to Roca, who stepped on Junuzovic's foot with a late tackle.

46'

And we're back. Bayern will be looking to build on that lead and push for a second goal.

45+1'

And that's half-time. Bayern lead courtesy of Lewandowski's goal two minutes from the break but Salzburg have been well in this contest and actually had the better chances prior to the opener. Dominik Szoboszlai missed that one and there's plenty to ponder at the interval.

45'

Salzburg go on the attack looking for an instant reply, with Koita getting on the end of a good move but he's slipping as he shoots and Neuer makes a good save.

  • Robert Lewandowski
GoalRobert LewandowskiFC Bayern MunichGOAL! Bayern have the lead and that shows the value of a quality striker. 40'

Mwepu tries his luck from just outside the box after the ball breaks kindly to him. It's a powerful effort and flying towards the goal but Neuer is more than equal to it.

38'

Salzburg are defending really well here. Gnabry takes a corner short and makes a dart into the box from Roca. But there are so many black shirts back that picking out a team-mate is nigh-on impossible.

35'

What. A. Chance.

Salzburg should be ahead here after fluffing the best chance of the match. Berisha drops deep effectively and clips in a ball to Szoboszlai, who has beaten the offside trap and only has Neuer to beat. He's just inside the box and blasts it well over.

33'

Bayern look to play in Lewandowski with a long ball but he can't quite bring it down and the Salzburg defence get across to crowd him out.

28'

Chance!

Gnabry puts in a fine corner which Lewandowski flicks on at the far. Goretzka could follow it in at the back stick but checks his run and the ball drifts wide.

27'

After a bright start from both teams, the pace has been taken out of this one a bit as we approach the half-hour mark.

  • Manuel Neuer

20'

So, we're 20 minutes into this encounter now and it's been a pretty good one so far. Both sides have come close to scoring, with Muller, Lewandowski and Gnabry linking up well for the hosts. The visitors have had a substantial threat of their own and would be ahead were it not for the heroics of Manuel Neuer.

15'

NEUER! Twice!

Another error from Alaba - his second - gifts the visitors possession and they pour forward in numbers. Berisha has the first one, with Neuer making himself big and springing off his line to make the block. The ball breaks to Mwepu, whose attempted volley hasn't got enough power and the Germany skipper is there again.

12'

Bayern are starting to click. Lewandowski has a go from just outside the box this time but it's a foot or so over the bar. Ominous signs for Salzburg, and their leaky defence.

10'

CLOSE!

Richards and Muller combine well on the Bayern left but the Germans' cross is cleared by Wober. It falls invitingly to Gnabry to volley and he doesn't refuse the invitation, sending a ferocious effort just wide of Stankovic's post.

8'

Another good move from Bayern and Muller tries his luck from the edge of the box but Wober makes an easy block.

4'

Bayern combine nicely and Gnabry tries to feed Lewandowski but his ball is poor and a defender gets across to intercept. Gnabry apologises for his error.

3'

First shot!

Alaba misses his interception and the ball breaks to Camara on the edge of the box but his shot is way, way short of the power it needs to trouble a goalkeeper like Neuer.

And we're off! Salzburg get the game started and attack down the left but Bayern soon regain possession.

20:00

We're having a minute's silence for Diego Maradona to remember one of football's greats.

The teams are out and we're almost ready to go!

Bayern have scored a remarkable 55 goals in their last 14 Champions League matches...

19:36

Bayern have played three, won three and scored 12 already in this Champions League campaign. That's only two fewer than all the other teams in Group A combined...

19:23

The world of football is, of course, in mourning after the death of Diego Maradona at the age of 60. And Bayern are no different.
