Bayern breeze into Friday's quarter-final draw with a comfortable 2-1 win tonight. The Bundesliga champions progress 6-2 on aggregate thanks to Robert Lewandowski's first-half penalty, his 73rd goal in the Champions League, and substitute Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting's chipped finish.
Lulic goes down after colliding with Sane and is receiving treatment.
FOUR minutes of added time.
SAVE! Sane slips through Gnabry and all he had to do was apply a easy finish, but he does not make a clean contact and Reina saves it. The following corner comes to nothing.
Lazio are making a late surge as they look to get a draw on the night. Bayern are happy to let them have it right now.
- OffGonzalo EscalanteSS Lazio
- OnJean-Daniel Akpa AkproSS Lazio
SUB! Akpa-Akpro comes on for Escalante for these remaining minutes moments more Acerbi nods a Lazio corner onto the roof of Bayern's net.
- GoalMarco ParoloSS Lazio
GOAL! Parolo pulls one back! Pereira's free-kick crossed to the back post is nodded in by the substitute from point-blank range. Martinez appeared to switch off!
Here is Choupo-Moting's goal. A very tidy finish.
Bayern are knocking the ball around with ease but do not look content to sit on their five-goal lead. They want more. It's classic, ruthless Bayern.
- OffJoshua KimmichFC Bayern Munich
- OnJavi MartínezFC Bayern Munich
SUB! Kimmich is off for Martinez.
- OffLuis AlbertoSS Lazio
- OnDanilo CataldiSS Lazio
Davies wins Bayern a corner but it comes to nothing. SUB! Cataldi is on for Alberto.
- GoalEric Maxim Choupo-MotingFC Bayern Munich
GOAL!!! Choupo-Moting makes it 2-0 on the night and 6-1 on aggregate. Alaba's simple pass through the heart of the Lazio defence finds Choupo-Moting and he cooly dinks it past Reina into the net.
OFFSIDE! Correa breaks free down the middle and strikes a one-on-one into Nubel's body, but the Argentine was just ahead of play anyway.
- OffRobert LewandowskiFC Bayern Munich
- OnEric Maxim Choupo-MotingFC Bayern Munich
SUBS! Choupo-Moting and Musiala come on for Lewandowski and Muller.
- Yellow cardJoaquin CorreaSS Lazio
YELLOW! Correa barges over Sule, which is no easy feat, and is booked for his troubles.
OFF THE POST! Gnabry passes to Alaba who tees up Lewandowski. He rifles a pure right-footed strike looking for the bottom left corner, but it cannons off the woodwork into the grateful arms of Reina! That was a sensational effort. Reina had no chance! He was diving after it had hit the post such was the power on it!
Davies surges into the Lazio box and is causing problems. He has three attempts to pass the ball across the goalmouth, but the visitors' defence stands firm and eventually clear. The 20-year-old Canada international is already making an impact.
- OffLeon GoretzkaFC Bayern Munich
- OnAlphonso DaviesFC Bayern Munich
SUB! Goretzka, on a yellow card, comes off for Davies.
Sane's cross to the far post looking for Lewandowski is nodded behind by Parolo for a Bayern corner. Kimmich's inswinger is met by Sule, but the referee István Kovacs blows for a foul on Acerbi.
- OffManuel LazzariSS Lazio
- OnMarco ParoloSS Lazio
Pavard finds Muller before he tries to dink the ball over the top of the Lazio backline for Lewandowski to latch onto, but the space between the Pole and Reina is too tight and the Spaniard claims it.
- OffVedat MuriqiSS Lazio
- OnAndreas PereiraSS Lazio
Lazzari is down on the ground and Lazio are preparing to make two subs. Pereira and Parolo are primed and ready but the defender is receiving medical treatment. The Manchester United loanee Pereira is on for Muriqi. Lazzari comes off for Parolo.
Lazio counter and Correa charges forward but once again it fizzles out. Lazio are picking up good positions but Bayern's backline are not giving away anything.
Nubel's goal-kick is blocked by Muriqi but Lazio's attack breaks down. They are still giving their all here the Italian side but Bayern are looking relatively comfortable as you would expect from a team holding a four-goal advantage.
- Yellow cardLeon GoretzkaFC Bayern Munich
Pavard picks out Lewandowski in the box but his shot from close range is crucially blocked by Acerbi. That was heading in. Bayern are hungry for more goals. YELLOW! For Goretzka after tripping up Lazzari to stop a Lazio counter-attack.
- 2nd Half
SUBS! We are back underway and we have one sub each. Boateng comes off for Sule and Fares - who tried to run off his injury during the break - has been replaced by Lulic.
Robert Lewandowski is rather good at football, in case you didn't know...
- End of 1st Half
Lewandowski's 39th goal of the season from the spot has Bayern in a seemingly unassailable lead as we enter the break in snowy Munich.
ONE minute of added time.
Fares is back on the ground holding his left knee and is receiving medical treatment. It happened after he planted his foot awkwardly into the ground following a tangling of legs with Sane. It looks like he will see out the end of this half before being subbed.
There's a pause in play as Fares goes down in a heap. He is hobbling now and play will continue. Lazio urgently need a goal before the end of this entertaining first half if they are to stand any chance of a comeback.
The free-kick from 25-yards out is struck by Lewandowski but it crashes off the wall. The sleet is coming down in the sub-zero temperatures in Munich just to make things more uncomfortable for Lazio. Actually, make that snow.
- Yellow cardSergej Milinkovic-SavicSS Lazio
SHOT! Sane lays the ball off to Kimmich just outside the Lazio box but his first-time effort is blocked. Moments later Bayern win a free-kick in a good position after Milinkovic-Savic cynically wipes out Gnabry. It's a yellow for the Lazio captain.
That may well crush Lazio's spirit who started this game so well, but a four-goal deficit has only been overturned once before in Champions League history and that was a rather special night in Barcelona in 2017. Bayern are playing on the front foot now.
- Goal by penaltyRobert LewandowskiFC Bayern Munich
GOAL!!! Lewandowski steps up... and smashes his penalty into the bottom left corner, sending Reina the wrong way! Bayern lead 1-0 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate! That's five goals in six Champions League matches for Lewandowski. His 39th of the season and his 73rd in Champions League history.
- Yellow cardFrancesco AcerbiSS Lazio
Bayern win their first corner of the evening on the half-hour mark.... and IT'S A PENALTY! And a yellow for Acerbi for his protests. Muriqi pulled down Goretzka and it is undoubtedly a penalty.
Lazzari loses the ball and Bayern counter. Eventually, with Lazio getting all their men back, Sane cuts in and drags his low shot well wide. That was perhaps a sign of impatience from the Germany international. Lazio have defended well so far.
- Yellow cardStefan RaduSS Lazio
Lazio are showing plenty of fighting spirit but they have registered just the one shot on goal so far. YELLOW! For Radu for a poorly-timed sliding tackle, catching Lewandowski's ankle.
Radu's cross into the box finds Milinkovic-Savic, but his driven pass into a pack of sky blue and red shirts in the area is cleared away by Kimmich.
Kimmich tries to weave a pass through to Sane but he overcooked it and Lazio have a goal-kick. Bayern are not looking their fluid best right now.
Alaba's long ball down the left channel looking for Hernandez is disappointing and Lazio have a goal-kick. Lazio can take confidence from their start. They have nothing to lose.
Lewandowski drags back Murisic and Lazio have a free-kick around 35-yards from goal. Alberto takes it quickly but Pavard heads the low cross away. The Serie A club have begun brightly in this second leg.
CHANCE! Fares finds Milinkovic-Savic in the box with a pinpoint cross, the Serb meets it but he cannot get enough power behind his header and it bounces into the grateful arms of Nubel! This is starting to open up as a contest.
CLOSE! Sane unleashes a fierce curled shot from the inside-right channel off his left boot but it curls just wide!! Lewandowski tries to get a diving header away but it was too powerful. That was very close!
Muller's lofted ball looking for Sane at the far post is intercepted by former Liverpool and Bayern goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who can catch it.
SHOT! Muriqi plays a neat one-two with Correa but the Kosovan striker almost gets in the way of his teammate, nevertheless the Argentine gets his shot away on the edge of the box and it skids wide of Nubel's left post.
Lazio are already sitting deep but they win a free-kick after Alaba pulls down Muriqi. The visitors have had a lot more of the ball than you might expect but they are struggling to deal with Bayern's high press.
Bayern are starting to apply some early pressure. Gnabry tries to skip by Marusic down the left flank, but he boots clear.
CHANCE! Pavard's cross finds Lewandowski at the far post, who nods it back into the danger zone looking for Gnabry to tap in, but Acerbi acrobatically clears away.
Lazio are enjoying some early possession with Bayern happy to ease themselves into this at the moment. The hosts know they just need to produce a routine performance to seal their place in the quarter-finals. Lazio need to do something special.
- 1st Half
We are underway in Munich!
Both teams are out on the pitch at the Allianz Arena and the Champions League anthem is ringing around the empty stadium. Kick-off is moments away!
A reminder that Alex Nubel is in goal for Bayern Munich tonight as Manuel Neuer has a cold. The 24-year-old is making his third Bayern start having joined the Bundesliga champions from Schalke in the summer. In his final season there he made 29 appearances and was club captain.

Could Cristiano Ronaldo be set for a sensational return to Old Trafford this summer? One report in Italy says it isn’t all that unlikely, declaring it a “concrete hypothesis”. But who else is in the hunt for the Portuguese wizard? 👇
The warm-ups are well underway at the Allianz Arena where Lazio will be looking to do the improbable and overturn a three-goal deficit. In Champions League knockout stage history, Liverpool, Roma and Deportivo La Coruna are the three teams to have successfully done it.
It could be another tough evening for Lazio tonight.
Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick said his team will not take the Italians lightly. Bayern are on a four-match winning run in all competitions and lead the German top-flight by four points after 25 games.
"We've delivered strong performances in the Champions League, as well as in the Bundesliga. Our current aim is to continue on in this manner," Flick told reporters on Tuesday.
"We are not approaching this game expecting that we can just bring it (the win) home. We want to win and to do that we have to perform well because Lazio can play very good football.
"They know how to score goals so we have to be alert and ready on the field from the start."
Lazio have made things difficult for themselves to qualify for the quarter-finals but coach Simone Inzaghi said on Tuesday the Italian club's goal is to become regulars in the competition after missing out in recent years. Their qualification for Europe's elite competition next season is in doubt with the Italian side seventh in Serie A with a game in hand, six points behind fourth-placed Atalanta.
"We hadn't entered the Champions League for more than 10 years, we missed the second round (last-16) for 20 years. We have to hit it more consistently," Inzaghi told reporters.
"I hope it will happen again soon because we are very ambitious. We've achieved our goal, to return to the second round. Unfortunately, with the first leg we have compromised passage to the next round."
For Lazio, Ciro Immobile - who has not scored in his last six matches - is on the bench tonight. Experienced defender Stefan Radu - who spent six weeks on the sidelines before making his comeback in a 3-2 victory over Crotone on Friday - starts again this evening.
It is THREE Bayern changes to the side that beat Werder Bremen 3-1 on Saturday. Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane both start. But the headline here is Manuel Neuer is out with a cold and has been replaced by 24-year-old Alexander Nubel, who is making just his third start for the Bundesliga champions.
