FT: Barcelona 5-1 Ferencvaros. Messi (pen), Fati, Coutinho, Pedri and Dembele do the damage to get Barca's CL campaign off to a good start. Pique was sent off to slightly blot the copybook for the hosts, allowing Kharatin to grab a consolation from the spot.
Messi sees a 25-yard free kick pushed to safety.
- Yellow cardAdnan KovacevicFerencváros
That's a tad hard on Ferencvaros, but it has been clinical from Barca.
- GoalOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
GOAL! Dembele smashes the fifth into the net after clever hold up work from Messi.
SAVE! Neto pulls off a smart save to deny the visitors once more and Lenglet completes the clearance on the stretch.
Barca have regained their composure now, despite being a man down. It's been routine-ish. The defence remains a weakness though.
- Yellow cardIhor KharatinFerencváros
- GoalPedriFC Barcelona
GOAL! That will finish it. Pedri crashes a low shot home after great play by Dembele on the break down the right.
All hands to the pump for that Barca rearguard as Busquets throws his body in the way of a shot. This didn't look likely around the hour mark.
The visitors are pushing hard. If they can nick in another goal in the next few minutes this could get very interesting.

Ferencvaros threaten on the counter once more. Nguen turns and finds the late run of Zubkov. He charges into the box, but skews a horrible shot wide under pressure.
Messi fakes the shot and then lifts an effort against the bar after being sent clear. The flag belatedly goes up, so it wouldn't have counted.
BRILLIANT SAVE! Fati sees a fierce, low shot superbly kept out by Dibusz after lovely play from Messi and Trincao on the right.
- Yellow cardAissa LaidouniFerencváros
Fati looks to get in on the act but his low strike from the left edge of the box is pretty tame and easy enough for Dibusz. The visitors are finding it harder to deal with Barca's increased tempo now. Laidouni is the first in the book for a poor challenge.
That is only Messi's second goal of the season - both penalties.
- Goal by penaltyLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOAL! Messi steps up and converts the spot kick he won with his solo dribble by firing it into the bottom corner of the net.

Messi takes a clever free kick to Coutinho on the edge of the box, but the Brazilian grimaces when his curler spins off target.
OFF THE BAR! The visitors almost steal in front. Isael makes a late dash into the box on an overlap and thunders in a first-time strike that cannons off the near post and flies to safety.
Dibusz makes a fine save to deny Messi. Fati picks up the rebound and is faced with a tight angle on the left side of the box, but his drilled cutback is well defended by Kovacevic.
STAT: Barcelona are unbeaten in 36 Champions League home matches, a run that started back in September 2013 (W32 D4).
At the other end, Messi swerves a free kick well wide of the far post. The away side will be quite happy so far. Still a fair way to go, mind you.
Drama! Nguen races in from the left and seems to have broken through Barca's high line. He cuts into the box far too easily and flashes a shot in off the post. However, his joy is short-lived - the flag is up for offside.VAR checks and the decision is correct. Still goalless.
Lenglet meets a left-wing corner but can only flash a header over the bar under pressure.
Will we see Fati shine tonight?
Messi has the first shot of note from distance, but it is pretty routine for Dibusz.
The first incisive move of the game sees the ball swept wide to Sergi Roberto. He sizes up his options from the right side of the box, but takes too long and his low ball is deflected behind. The resulting corner is disappointing.
Ferencvaros came through four qualifying rounds to become the first Hungarian side to make it this far in the UEFA Champions League for 11 years. Can they spring a surprise or will it be a case of damage limitation?
- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Ferencvaros get us up and running.
Hosts? Ready. Barca will be keen to put on a good show and banish the memory of their last outing in the competition when Bayern Munich put eight past them in the 2019-20 quarter finals.

FERENCVAROS v Spanish opposition: Four of Ferencvaros’ six games against Spanish sides have ended in draws. Their only victory was in the first of these meetings when they edged to a 2-1 success at home to Athletic Club in the 1982/83 UEFA Cup first round.
Ferencvaros forward, Tokmac Nguen: "When you get to the Champions League it is not something normal, because you are going to meet Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. You have to enjoy it. I will go onto the field and I will give everything. I am very happy to be here, it is very special. The best gift would be to leave here scoring."
Ferencvaros coach, Sergei Rebrov: "I am proud of our team, we have no stars and we work hard and together. We deserve to be here, we represent Hungary and my players will enjoy it a lot."
A bit more from Koeman: "When you're at Barcelona you always want to be there fighting for trophies, be it in La Liga or Europe. We aren't the favourites, but we can go far."
Ronald Koeman on Lionel Messi: "I don't have any complaints or doubts about his effort. Right now his performances could be better. On a day-to-day basis, he's happy and wants to play and be the team's captain."
