Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain from the Allianz Arena. The last meeting between these pair was a rather grand occasion - last season's Champions League final, which Bayern won 1-0. The reward for getting the better of a familiar face this time is a semi-final date with either Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund in late April.

Far too easy for the visitors. Swift counter, but Bayern are carved open, Neymar carries the ball forward, unselfishly lays it off for Mbappe, who drills under Manuel Neuer and into the net. What a start for Pochettino and PSG.

CROSSBAR! From a corner, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting gets up, flicks a header for goal, but the ball clips the top of the crossbar and away from goal.

KICK OFF! We are under way in wintry conditions here in Munich.

Is this the night for one of the world's best starlets to show what he can do? Mbappe has been directly involved in 35 goals in 33 games for PSG in the Champions League (19 goals, 16 assists), while he’s scored six in seven games in the competition this season – already his joint-best goal tally in a single campaign (also 6 in 2016-17). We are minutes away!

Not you, again. Mauricio Pochettino’s only previous Champions League match against Bayern Munich was with Spurs in October 2019, losing 7-2. The record for goals conceded in a manager’s first two games against an opponent in the competition is 12 - Aleksandr Yermakovich vs Shakhtar Donetsk and Brendan Rodgers vs PSG.

Hmmm

Goals in store. PSG have only failed to score in one of their last 43 games in the Champions League, with that coming in a 0-1 defeat in last season’s final. Since the start of the 2016-17 campaign, only Bayern Munich (2.8) have averaged more goals per game than Paris SG (2.5) in the competition.

Lucky charm.

This will be the 10th Champions League meeting between Bayern Munich and PSG - four Bayern wins, five PSG wins previously - and only the second in the knockout phase, after last season’s final - a 1-0 Bayern Munich win. Bayern have only lost more hampions League matches against Real Madrid (10) than PSG (5), while PSG's five wins against Bayern are their most against any opponent in the competition. Bayern have won their last three home Champions League games against PSG, since losing 1-0 in their first home game in November 1994 at the OIympiastadion, with George Weah scoring the winner.

NO LEWA, DRAXLER UP FRONT: It was already well documented, but just a reminder that Roberto Lewandowski will miss both legs through injury. A huge blow to the holders. The man to lead the line is former Stoke and PSG hitman Eric Choupo-Moting. There's no place in the side for Alphonso Davies - he is on the bench. Julian Draxler comes into the front three for PSG, in what is a very attack-minded XI, with Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe all starting.
