A slick Ajax move down the left completely opens the home side up. Neres charges on to a lay off in the box but chooses the shot from a narrow angle that fizzes into the side netting. A cut back seemed the obvious choice there.

CLOSE! Klaassen nods a free header wide at the near post from a Neres cross.

- Yellow cardPerr SchuursAjax
Mane surges on to a ball down the left and looks to power in on goal. Schuurs comes flying across and caches him 45 yards from goal. It's a yellow card, but the Ajax man is lucky there was some distance to cover as the Senegalese forward was away.
As it stands in Group D: Liverpool 10pts, Ajax 8pts, Atalanta 7 pts, Midtjylland 3.
STAT: Liverpool's defeat against Atalanta ended a run of eight consecutive games without defeat in the CL group stage (W7 D1), while the Reds have only once previously lost consecutive group games in the competition under Klopp (in November 2018).
Henderson steps up but flashes the free kick into the wall.
Jota takes down a long ball brilliantly on his chest and begins to lead a trio of Ajax defenders a merry dance before being pulled back. Free kick to Liverpool in a central position 30 yards from goal.
Mazraoui unleashes a 30-yard strike that Kelleher does well to tip over. It was heading towards the top corner too.
STAT: Ajax have scored at least twice in eight of their last nine away Champions League matches
Robertson is down following that early problem. The Scot is having some strapping put on the right ankle area.
The Dutch side have dominated the last five-10 minutes and seem to be growing in confidence.
STAT: Ajax are unbeaten in their last 11 away games in the UEFA Champions League (W7 D4); their longest run away from home in the competition since between September 1994 and March 1997 (14 games - W10 D4).
Robertson volleys behind after Klaassen had somehow failed to connect with another dangerous cross from the left. The hosts deal with the resulting corner with the minimum of fuss.
Klaassen gets on the end of a cross from the left, but sees his effort well held by Kelleher. The flag was up but the save will be good for the 22-year-old keeper's confidence.
A surprise early scoreline elsewhere in this group.
Antony cuts in from the right but flashes his shot well wide of the far post.
Salah points into the space in-behind in the right channel, but Jones looks to Mane on the left and gets his pass all wrong. The Liverpool forwards both turn away in disappointment.

The draws came against Ajax (2-2) in 1966 and versus Utrecht (0-0) in the 2010-11 Europa League group stage. Andy Robertson: “We are playing one of the European giants. We know we are in for a tough task, but we know what is at stake. We want to go far in this competition and we need to get through the group stage first and foremost. We need to keep that in our minds and do everything we can to win this game.”
The Liverpool boss also gave an update on how Virgil van Dijk is coping after surgery.
More injury problems for Klopp to contend with then. He's sprung a surprise with who he has picked to replace his No.1 keeper, but gone for a strong line-up tonight. Will they respond after the Atalanta blip?
Klopp on Alisson: "Alisson doesn't have COVID. He told us after the (Brighton) game he felt the hamstring after 60-70 minutes of the last game. He's had a scan, a little one (injury), but enough for today and probably another week."
Erik ten Hag, Ajax coach: "We should be even more courageous [than the last time we played them], because then there would have been more in it. We created opportunities but we did not finish them. But I think we would have had even more opportunities if we had acted more courageously."
Jürgen Klopp on the return of a small number of supporters v Wolves: "I am happy for the two thousand lucky ones who get to experience live football again. It's really not about us or the advantage we have with that or disadvantage. It's a nice sign that these things are possible and I hope it is just the first step."
PERMUTATIONS (via UEFA): So, we know Liverpool will go through if they avoid defeat, but the Reds could also be confirmed as group winners if they defeat Ajax and Atalanta do not beat Midtjylland. Midtjylland will finish fourth. No other issues can be settled.
