FT: Manchester United 4-1 Istanbul Basaksehir. Impressive for United, despite their second-half wobble. Fernandes was at the heart of everything, once more, to put United in the verge of the last-16. They now just need one point from their final two games to progress. Thanks for joining us. Goodnight.
Lovely finish from James, but the pass from Van de Beek to set Greenwood away is just as perfect. Greenwood then squares for James to score.
GGGOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! Manchester United 4-1 Istanbul Basaksehir. Big moment for James as he makes sure of the win.
Important touch away from Greenwood as he is about to pull the trigger. Four more minutes here.
Another booking, this time for Turuc. Not quite sure what for.
They need the final whistle.
Final change for the away side, with Carlos Ponck on for Skrtel.
Strange booking for Maguire for timewasting. Nerves settling in for United.
Mahmut Tekdemir with a strong tackle on Fred earns the substitute a yellow card.
Change for United, as they try to shore things up, with Nemanja Matic on for Martial.
CROSSBAR! Basaksehir are not out of this yet! Visca has a go from distance, it beats De Gea, but the strike cannons back off the crossbar.
Firm challenge from Martin Skrtel on Cavani earns him a yellow card.
De Gea seemed to be anticipating a right-footed effort from Visca, but was caught out by a great strike from Turuc.
GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! Manchester United 3-1 Istanbul Basaksehir. Deniz Turuc curls a brilliant free-kick over the wall, De Gea tries to claw it out, but the goal-line technology signals it had crossed.
A double change for Basaksehir. Giuliano and Hasan Ali Kaldirim replace Ozcan and Bolingoli.
James is looking lively here, which is good to see given his recent struggles.
Nice football again from United to work the chance for Greenwood, who cuts onto his left foot, but his strike is blocked.
The intensity has been sapped out United by these changes.
A question many of us ponder.
James is just offside as Fred looks for him over the top.
Missed a change for Baskasehir there, with Fredrik Gulbrandsen on for Chadli.
Telles with another cross into the middle, Maguire with the header, but it is over the top.
Greenwood involved straight away, but instead of passing to Williams, he elects to shoot, and it is blocked.
Here are those changes. Greenwood, Dan James and Brandon Williams coming on for Rashford, Wan-Bissaka and Fernandes. No hat-trick for the Portuguese.
Three changes about to be made by United. You can make five in the Champions League.
Further woe in the offing for the visitors.
First booking of the match here for Tuanzebe for an elbow on Ba. He will now be suspended for next week's clash with PSG.
Great football again from United, Fernandes' cross into the middle, but there's nobody there.
SAVE! He has not had a great deal to do, but that is a wonderful save from De Gea, as he gets down brilliantly to his right to keep out Visca's goalbound effort.
OVER! Chasing his 50th Champions League goal, Cavani twists and turns in the box, but his effort is deflected over the top.
Maguire seems to be holding his thigh at the back for United.
Change for Basaksehir at half time too, with Mahmut Tekdemir on for Kahveci.
KICK OFF! We are back under way here. One change for United, with Lindelof replaced by Axel Tuanzebe.
Replays suggest Fernandes was perhaps not all that happy to give the ball to Rashford. An instruction?
HT: Manchester United 3-0 Istanbul Baskasehir. Very open game, but going forward, United have been irresistible, lead by their talisman Bruno Fernandes.
One minute of added time at the end of the half.
Another chance for Ba! He pulls off Maguire again, but the United skipper blocks Ba's close range effort. The visitors have certainly had their chances...
Fernandes again darts into the gap, but Gunok makes a block.
A landmark moment! Did Bruno know?
While slaying Tories simultaneously.
SAVE! Martial slips the ball through for Fernandes, but Gunok races from his line to block.
CHANCE! Great ball into the middle, Ba gets across Maguire, but heads wide. Got there so should have done better.
Does Bruno not want the treble? That is too nice, no? Giving the ball to Rashford when on a hat-trick!?!
GGGGGGOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!! Manchester United 3-0 Istanbul Basaksehir. Fernandes shuns the hat-trick, gives the ball to Rashford, who slots the ball home.
VAR is having a look at whether Rashford is just offside. Very, very tight this.
PENALTY TO UNITED! Rashford felled in the penalty area. Great ball over the top from Lindelof.
A spell of possession for the visitors, but United have a good shape this evening.
Ba has a speculative effort, but that is not troubling David de Gea.
Ambitious from Visca to shoot from fully 35 yards from a free-kick. Always sailing over the top.
Elsewhere this evening...
Pace has slowed somewhat, which is understandable.
UPDATE
Another decent opening for Ozcan, but Harry Maguire makes the block.
That might work?
The opposition are not the best, but this is very, very good from United.
Great cross from Telles into the middle, Gunok comes out to punch, gets it all kinds of wrong, and Fernandes has the simple task of tapping home into the empty net.
GGGGGOOOOAAALLLLL!! Manchester United 2-0 Istanbul Basaksehir. Oh no, woeful error by Basaksehir goalkeeper Fehmi Gunok and Fernandes is on hand to make it two.
Warning signs for United. Berkay Özcan gets into the box far too easily, lays it off for the Basaksehir skipper Edin Visca, but he blazes over.
What a record.
WIDE! Fernandes is everywhere. Great strike from the Portuguese, but it flies just wide.
NO GOAL! What a shame. Super, super football from United, Rashford converts, but is just offisde.
Where would United be without him?
This is just what United needed early on here. Great start.
A truly astonishing strike. Alex Telles whips the corner in, it is only half-cleared, Fernandes meets the bouncing ball on the half volley, and it absolutely flies into the roof of the net from 25 yards. What a hit.
GGGGOOOOOOAAALLLLLL!!! Manchester United 1-0 Istanbul Baskasehir. What a strike from Fernandes to make it 1-0.
When Fred ventures forward, Van de Beek sits in. Maybe a system for the future?
Really good, positive start from United. They are pressing really high.
SAVE! Super touch from Bruno Fernandes into Marcus Rashford, who shows superb footwork to dance through, but he is denied by a smart save.
KICK OFF! We are up and running here.
So here we go. Big test for United, with a strong side out. They need to get the job done and put one foot in the next round with a win this evening.
They're ready...

Five of Marcus Rashford’s nine goals for Manchester United in the Champions League have been scored after coming off the bench – indeed, the only player to score more goals for the club in the competition as a substitute is current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (7). Can he do it from the start tonight?
Not in the squad tonight, but what does the future hold for once the world's most expensive player?
Manchester United have won their last six home games in European competition by an aggregate score of 20-1, while the only game in this run that came in the UEFA Champions League was their 5-0 win over RB Leipzig this season. More of this is needed tonight.
Let's hope not in the next few hours....
Horrible.
Manchester United have lost three of their last four games against Turkish opponents in European competition (W1), including each of the last two in a row. İstanbul Başakşehir’s only previous away game against an English team in European competition came in August 2018, when they lost 0-1 against Burnley in a UEFA Europa League qualifier.
CAVANI STARTS, POGBA NOT IN SQUAD: The big news is that Paul Pogba is not fit enough to even make the United squad this evening, with Donny van de Beek getting a rare start in midfield. There is a full debut for Edinson Cavani, through the middle of a three-man attack. Former Tottenham midfielder Nacer Chadli missed the win over United last time, but is fit to start this evening. Demba Ba is again leading the line for Basaksehir.
TEAM NEWS - MAN UTD: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Telles, Maguire, Lindelof, Fred, Van de Beek, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford, Cavani... Subs: Grant, Henderson, Fosu-Mensah, Mengi, Tuanzebe, Williams, Mata, Matic, Pellistri, Greenwood, Ighalo. /// Gunok, Rafael, Skrtel, Epureanu, Mbombo, Ozcan, Kahveci, Chadli, Turuc, Visca, Ba.
The teams are in...
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Manchester United's Champions League clash with Istanbul Basaksehir from Old Trafford. We are still no nearer to understanding where Manchester United are at right now. Two wins from two tough opening games in the Champions League certainly indicated an upturn in fortunes, but a woeful performance in defeat in Istanbul, in the reverse fixture last time out, saw United crash back down to earth with a bump. A limp display against West Brom at the weekend certainly did little to win over the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doubters. A win tonight is a must.
