STAT: Only Kylian Mbappé in April 2017 (18 v Borussia Dortmund) has scored a Champions League brace in the quarter-finals or later at a younger age than Vinícius Júnior (20y 268d).
This chap has been rather good tonight.
Vinicius drives at the heart of the Liverpool defence. He fakes the shot and feeds Benzema to his right, but the Frenchman's low drive is smothered by Alisson.
- OffMarco AsensioReal Madrid
- OnFederico ValverdeReal Madrid
REAL CHANGE: Valverde on for Asensio.
Liverpool are being caught out time and time again at the back. If they keep being stretched by that Real attack, you sense the hosts could put this tie to bed tonight. Liverpool just need to manage their emotions and not over-commit players forward.
- GoalVinícius JúniorReal Madrid
GOAL! It's three! Vinicius guides a first-time shot through Phillips' legs and beyond Alisson from Modric's pass from the right.
That's a wonderful defensive challenge from Mendy to deny Mane after the forward looked to get on the end of Jota's ball from the left side of the box.
Asensio tees up Kroos to fizz over from 20 yards out after Thiago had been robbed inside his own area.
STAT: Salah is only the fifth Liverpool player to score in four successive European games, following Steven Gerrard (twice), Roger Hunt, Robbie Fowler and Djibril Cisse.
Benzema drives in from the left. He beats two but sees his dangerous shot well blocked by Phillips.
- Yellow cardThiagoLiverpool
Thiago booked for a late one on Asensio.
That was Salah's 27th goal of the season and could be one of the most crucial. At present, it's really changed the complexion of the tie. Liverpool look like a different animal since the restart.
CLOSE! Jota heads wide from TAA's sublime outside of the foot cross into the centre.
VAR checked that goal for quite a while - but it DOES stand. Liverpool have the away goal.

KICK OFF! Liverpool get us back underway needing to raise their level considerably to make a contest of this first leg.
- End of 1st Half
HT: Real 2-0 Liverpool.
VIDEO: Real make it two!
It may well be that Keita had an injury, but it didn't seem like it. It looked like Klopp had seen enough of a shocker of a display.
Nearly three. Asensio can't find the finish after Kabak failed to deal with a simple long ball into the right channel.
- OffNaby KeïtaLiverpool
LIVERPOOL CHANGE: Keita off, Thiago on.
Liverpool have been pretty awful in this half. Fair play to Real, mind you. They have got their tactics spot on and have been by far the better team.

Mane is booked for continuing to complain about the incident.
Liverpool are complaining about what they felt was a foul on Mane just before Kroos played that pass over the top for the second goal.

CLOSE! Real carve the away side open once more. Benzema feeds Vinicius from the right but this time the Brazilian's shot deflects just wide of the far post.
It really was a sublime pass from Kroos and great chest control from Vinicius, but Liverpool can't be caught out by one ball over the top like that. Real deserve to be ahead though.
- GoalVinícius JúniorReal Madrid
GOAL! Vinicius Jnr races on to a lovely pass over the top from Kroos and rifles a low shot beyond Alisson.
More fine defending from Kabak as he gets across to Benzema to make an important block as the Frenchman pulled the trigger. The opening came too easily from the visitors point of view as they gave away possession cheaply and one through pass looked to set Benzema free.
DID YOU KNOW? Liverpool have lost each of their last three games against Real Madrid in the Champions League and have only suffered four consecutive defeats against an opponent across all European competitions once before. That was versus Benfica between 1984 and 2010.
LATEST IN THE CL: Man City 1-0 Dortmund. KDB.

Vinícius Júnior latches on to a ball down the left. He jinks into the area and cuts it back for Modric, who can't get a shot away under pressure from Wijnaldum. Modric wants a penalty... VAR checks - no joy for Real. It was outside the box anyway.
Salah pounces on a loose ball, surges beyond one but can't get past Mendy. That's the first time Liverpool have threatened.
Real have looked sharp early doors with Benzema offering their biggest threat.

Jota: “I am scoring a good amount of goals. That’s what I want to do; help the team in the rest of the season. I don’t mind if I don’t score as long as the team wins.”
Nacho: “Mane, Firmino, Salah and Jota are all in spectacular form and they're the best players on an individual level. Every Liverpool player will want to beat us and we want to beat them. It's true that we beat them in the Champions League final. We have the same desire to win this tie. I like the way Liverpool play together up front with three very good players.”
As we continue to build up to this mouthwatering showdown, why not catch up on the gossip from the continent in our latest Euro Papers video. Liverpool feature prominently today.
Zinedine Zidane: “My team has been underrated but I believe in them and know what they can do. Whenever there are still signs of life, we never give up. We're going to keep on fighting for everything, we've had some very difficult moments this season, we're much better now but we still haven't achieved anything."
More from Klopp: "We have to chase Real Madrid."
Klopp not thinking of 2018 final: “My motivation is at the highest level because we play in the Champions League, we want to go to the next round and we play Real Madrid. It was for us a strange night but it was long ago and I cannot get that anger back so I don't even try. What I try is to prepare my team to show how good we are as a football team in a strange season and a difficult season. We are not on a revenge tour here. Life is like this. I don't believe too much in revenge, but it would be nice to get through."
As has been much publicised, Real are without Sergio Ramos through a calf injury and Raphael Varane due to Covid-19. The Spanish champions makes two changes from the side that defeated Eibar with Toni Kroos and Vinicius Jr in from the start.
Liverpool make three changes from the 3-0 win at Arsenal. Naby Keita and Gini Wijnaldum come into the midfield while two-goal hero against the Gunners, Diogo Jota joins Sadio Mane and Mo Salah in attack.
