More excellent defending from Savic to nick the ball away in the box.
GOOD SAVE! Felix's drive from outside the area is tipped away by the keeper.

Suarez is still having a moan on the subs bench.

- OnNoah OkaforRed Bull Salzburg
The Austrians make their first change with Okafor on for Daka.
- Yellow cardAndré RamalhoRed Bull Salzburg
Ramalho is booked for a late challenge and will miss the next European game.
Salzburg have had 15 attemtps on goal with just 2 on target.
Felix has dropped deep a lot tonight so we havent seen his attacking prowess like last week against Bayern. He has certainly done a shift for the team defensively.
In the absence of Gimenez, Savic and Felipe have been brilliant, particularly in the air.
- OffLuis SuárezAtlético Madrid
- OnÁngel CorreaAtlético Madrid
Suarez makes way for Correa and he doesnt look too happy about it.
- OffSaúlAtlético Madrid
- OnHéctor HerreraAtlético Madrid
Herrera is on for Saul.
Berisha's drive from outside the box deflects off Felipe for a corner. The delivery comes in, theres a bit of ping pong before the offside flag is raised. Atletico are clinging on.
Due to their head to head record over Lokomotiv, Salzburg are third currently.
- Yellow cardStefan SavicAtlético Madrid
A yellow from Savic, seemed harsh, that was a vintage Atletico crunching challenge.
Daka's backheel to Szoboszlai, in the box, he goes down easily and its no penalty.
Daka with a neat turn and shot from a tight angle which goes wide. If Salzburg had their shooting boots on tonight, this game would have been over ages ago.
Some play-acting from Llorente, thats poor to see.
Another Salzburg free-kick pinged into the box which Atletico clear before Trippier is fouled ear his own box.
Koita with his second foul throw in of the game. Baffling.
I'm still in shock at that miss from the Arsenal target. The second half has continued as the first did.
WHAT A MISS! Szoboszlai trades passes and with only the keeper to beat strokes it inches wide of the goal!
CLOSE! Great cross into the box, it falls to Kristensen whose shot on the turn goes narrowly wide.
CHANCE! No changes made by either side. Felix straight away with a long-range effort which the keeepr saves.
- 2nd Half
KICK OFF: Atletico get the second half underway.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Salzburg have hit the post and spurned some good chances and find themselves 1-0 down. Atletico lead through Hermoso's header which will be enough to send them through as it stands.
Atletico on the counter, Felix tries to play it over the top to Suarez who was through on goal but its cleared.
Salzburg have a free-kick in a dangerous area. Its swung in and Hermoso eventually gets it clear.
PENALTY SHOUT! Daka is brought down by Hermoso but he looked to have won the ball first. VAR takes a look and its no penalty. Simeone is booked for his protests.
As it stands, Salzburg are third and will go into the Europa League ahead of Lokomotiv Moscow and Atletico are second.
Nice glancing header from the defender. That is cruel on the hosts but they have spurned several chances.
- GoalMario HermosoAtlético Madrid
GOAL FOR ATLETICO! Felix is tripped on the left flan, no yellow given. Carrasco's delivery is headed in by Hermoso.
Atletico's final ball continues to be poor although they are having more of the possession now.
Wober with an error in his box and the keeper is there to save him and block the cross with Suarez waiting for a tap in.
Saul tracks back to put the ball behind for a corner. Its floated to the edge of the box to Junuzovic and his volley is high and wide.
Will Salzburg rue these missed opportunities? They should be ahead.
Trippier is tripped and its a free-kick. Carrasco's delivery is a poor one and hits the one man wall. Koita is then through on goal, checks and his shot is deflected over.
Koita's cross is blocked by Savic for a corner. The delivery is headed away.
Koke makes the most of a tussle by claming he was elbowed in the chest. Unsurprisingly no foul is given.
CHANCE! Suarez tees up Llorente whu curls an effort from distance wide.
Indeed. The visitors have been under the cosh big time.
Atletico have a corner. Trippier's delivery is poor and cleared a the near post.
Saul and Koke look to be playing too deep, as a result theres no seervice to Suarez and Atletico cannot keep the ball.
Wober limps back on the field.
Wöber looks to have injured his knee when he challenged Felix and needs treatment.
On the balance of play, Salzburg should be two goals to the good. They have been dominant.
DOUBLE CHANCE! Mwepu with a brilliant weighted through ball to Koita who scuffs his shot from close range. Seconds later, Szoboszlai's first time effort is saved by Oblak.
Suarez wins a foul around 35 yards out. Carrasco crosses it in towards Savic but its overhit and its a goal kick.
Its a corner to the hosts. Its swung in and headed away by Suarez, who then gets a strong barge in the back.
Berisha and Mwepu combine in the box but the ball is nicked away. The ball is played back in but Koita fails to get a shot away. Dearie me.
Ramalho is lucky to escape a booking for a late, crunching challenge on Felix near the halfway line. Llorente is then brought down on the edge of the box but advantage is played.
Some nice stuff being played by Salzbrg in the early stages.
Yeh why not..
POST! The ball is flicked on for Berisha whose low curling effort hits the post with Oblak beaten.
Kristensen pings a dangerous ball into the box and Atletico clear the danger. The visitors look to be going 4-4-2 with counter attacks on their mind.
KICK OFF: Referee Anthony Taylor blows his whistle and we are underway.
Lemar, who has played well this season, starts on the bench.
COUNTDOWN: 5 mins till kick off!
In the buildup to the game, Red Bull Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch expects Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai to leave the club during the upcoming transfer window.
Marsch said: "Specifically with Szobo, we spent a lot of time going over individual videos and going over what his role was, how to be more dynamic, how to play our football, and I think over time we had a lot of fun together.
"I think he’s grown immensely over the last 18 months and it’s a source of pride for me, when I see that these young men are achieving all of the things I believe they can - not just in their careers, but in their life."
So to clarify Group A, Bayern are already through to the next round. Atlético will go through if they avoid defeat by Salzburg. And the Austrians will go through if they win.
Simeone's side, who are top of La Liga, are unbeaten in ten matches since losing 4-0 to Bayern Munich in October in all competitions.
The hosts are not in the best of nick with 3 defeats in their last 5 games in all competitions. It included a 1-0 loss to Admira at the weekend.
Diego Simeone has claimed Atletico deserve more points than what they have managed so far in the Champions League.
"After lockdown, the team has improved and this start to LaLiga Santander has been consistent," he said.
"In the Champions League we deserve to have won more games than we have, but it is football and [against Red Bull Salzburg] it is a knock-out tie and if we take the game to where we think we can, we will do well."
