Bayern are looking so comfortable out there. Will Koeman look to change at half time or will he see it as a case of limiting damage and aiming to pinch something late on?

UEFA STAT: Bayern's away record against Spanish clubs is W8 D7 L15. A 2-1 win at Sevilla in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg (2-1 aggregate) is their sole victory in their last eight visits (D2 L5).

Ronald Araújo meets a right-wing free kick but thumps his header from a long way out way off target.

26'

Muller is free on the right of the area but his attempt to find the bottom corner is thwarted by a last-ditch sliding challenge from Pique.

24'

Fair to say that this is rather tight. Koeman clearly keen to avoid any similarities to the space afforded to Bayern the last time these two teams met (granted, there's some different personnel out there).

22'

UEFA STAT: Bayern have recorded just four victories in their last 10 matches against Spanish clubs (D3 L3), though they are undefeated in the last five (W3 D2).

Depay drops into the hole and looks to release de Jong to the left of the area. The striker looks to pull the trigger but is denied by a sliding challenge from Pavard. The flag was up s it wouldn't have counted but it was an excellent recovery from the Bayern defender.

12'

Lewy was having a word with Mr Oliver there. He felt it was a clumsy push from the Barcelona defender.

11'

Ronald Araújo nudges into the back of Lewandowski as he looks to shield a probing pass on his way into the area. It makes him tumble and Araújo gets back to avert the danger.

10'

It's been a rather tame start to this one. Both sides still feeling each other out.

A Barca corner from the left-wing is half cleared. The hosts works it back out wide to Depay who takes on his man but sees his cross nodded to safety.

DEADLY DEPAY. After netting twice in his first three Barcelona appearances, Depay also found scored five times in three World Cup qualifying games. He grabbed a brace in a 4-0 Netherlands win against Montenegro before helping himself to a hat-trick in a 6-1 defeat of Turkey three days later.

19.47

Ronald Koeman on Barca’s internal issues: “My relationship with Laporta has improved but something happened last week that I think is not right. He was suggesting that the coach does not have all the power. He spoke too much and was not wise on two occasions. That can be done in private. I like when a president is engaged and asks questions, only that should not happen in the press. That was the problem. I'm open to staying, I'm just having a good time. Thanks to me, this club has a future.”

Melzer was also keen to highlight Robert Lewandowski's importance. He said: "Lewandowski is irreplaceable for FC Bayern. With Choupo-Moting, the club has a good backup player when it comes to weaker teams in the Bundesliga and Lewandowski needs a break. At the highest level, however, it is not an adequate substitute. Means: The success of FC Bayern is essentially linked to Lewandowski."

Asked to pick out some of the sides he expects to challenge Bayern for the CL title, he added: "I think Paris Saint-Germain has the strongest squad. It remains to be seen whether the big names will work as a team. Mauricio Pochettino's biggest job will be to moderate the squad. In my opinion, Chelsea have an extremely good and well-rehearsed squad that can again target the Champions League victory. Man City and Man United have also upgraded well. Real Madrid always has to be on your radar too."

Lewandowski is aiming to be the Bayern hero once again
19.40

Melzer also offered some insight into how the new coach is different to Hansi Flick: “Nagelsmann had a difficult preparation. He mainly had to bet on reserve players and youth players to begin with. The national players and stars joined the team very late, which is why it was difficult to convey his philosophy. So far, things have been going well for him in the Bundesliga. His team seems to be getting more and more acclimatized, with ten points from four games.Because he had so little time, Nagelsmann had to rely as much as possible on a team trained by Flick. It remains to be seen what his style of play looks like in detail.”

We got the lowdown on Nagelsmann’s Bayern from Eurosport Germany’s Dennis Melzer: “For Bayern, it doesn't matter who the coach is. Bayern always aims to win as many titles as possible. The German championship is almost firmly planned, the German cup is always a nice accessory. But the Champions League is the highest and most important goal for Bayern, and that’s no different this year.”

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann on Barcelona: "They've no longer got someone as extravagant as Messi, but they have other players who can make a difference. We are prepared for everything. I'm not of the opinion that they are a lot worse off now. In any case, we definitely want three points."

Sergio Busquets: “Anything can happen in football. Chelsea won the Champions League last season and were not favourites. We are here, excited and aware of the difficulty, but we have a lot of ambition and we want to win.”

Manuel Neuer reflected on that astonishing 8-2 win against Barcelona in his pre-match press conference. He said: "We'll obviously never forget our game in 2020, but these are two new group stage games and we're looking forward to two big ones. It's a cracker to kick things off in the Champions League and we're excited to start our journey in this season's competition."

PREVIOUSLY: Bayern smashed eight goals past Barça when the teams were drawn together in the 2019/20 quarter-finals in Lisbon. It was the first time the Bavarians had netted eight in a Champions League game and the first time their Catalan opponents had shipped eight in a competitive game since 1946. Bayern went on to claim their sixth European Cup.
