The glory the 2009-10 Champions League victory under Mourinho must seem like a life time ago for Inter fans. Since then they have only ever progressed from the group stage on two occasions, and have qualified for the competition just five times

Head coach Ancelotti knows a thing or two about how to win this competition. Not only did he lift it in the 2014-14 season, but he also has the greatest win percentage (76%) of any manager at a single club in the competition's history who has managed at least 20 games.

We love a Champions League night! Especially when they are played in venues like the iconic San Siro, it takes the game to a whole other level. Kick-off is less than half an hour away!!!

Champions League Rewind! Madrid legend Zidane guided his former side to the semi-finals last season's competition, being dumped out by eventual winners Chelsea losing 3-1 on aggregate.

The Italians have a chequered record against the thirteen-time Champions League winners, beating them on four of their six competitive meetings on home soil, but on the flip side of the coin the Nerazzurri have lost four of their last five games against Los Blancos in a European competition.

Madrid will be on the hunt to add a 14th Champions League crown to their record books, since their 2017-18 triumph. There is no doubt that they remain as one of the favourites, but it won't be plain sailing as the competition around them has improved

There are high hopes for this Inter squad under the stewardship of Inzaghi. In the lead up tonight's match the manager wanted to focus on the future "I think that stuff is in the past. Now we have the chance to write a fantastic chapter in the here and now. It won’t be an easy group, but we are hoping and aiming to qualify."

And here is how the home side have lined up.

Simone Inzaghi has named an attacking side. Choosing to stick with the same wing-back partnership of Perisic and Darmian that he has used in the three Serie A matches

Team news for Madrid!!!

Benzema leads the line. While all eyes will be on the exciting summer signing Eduardo Camavinga who makes the bench having scored on the weekend

The Champions League has a funny way of making history. This is the second consecutive campaign in which Inter, Madrid and Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk, have been drawn in the same group of the competition. With Los Blancos coming out on top completing a double over the Nerazzurri home and away, including a 2-0 victory in Milan
