THE CL PLAY-OFF DRAW - HOW DOES IT WORK?
Well, we could do that annoying thing where people pretend something slightly beyond rudimentary is bafflingly complex, or we can treat each other with respect and just explain it.
Teams from 9-16th are seeded. 17-24th are not. The seeded teams will be drawn against the unseeded, and the seeded play the second leg at home.
Teams are also given the nod based on their finishing spot, and will be drawn in pairs. So the teams in 9th and 10th play against one of the teams from 23rd and 24th, and so on. That way, there is a supposed reward for finishing higher up, but it does reduce the amount of sheer mystery we have going into this business.
