CLOSE! Firmino runs towards the box, cuts inside and curls it narrowly wide from distance. Decent hit.
Arsenal break with pace. Saka finds Maitland-Niles who leand back and his long-range effort is well over.
Another good Robertson run and cross on the byline and Arsenal deal with the danger and head it away. Liverpool look to have cranked up the tempo.

KICK OFF: Arsenal get us underway.

HALF TIME: A wonderful strike from the edge of the box from Aubameyang separates the teams. Liverpool made a decent start and had a goal from van Dijk disallowed for off-side.
Good work from Saka, winning a 40-60 ball and sending in a low cross into the box which just evades an Arsenal shirt. There will be one added minute.
Tierney's volley is blocked for a corner. Saka's delivery is headed away by van Dijk. Arsenal weathering a strong spell from the Reds.
CHANCE! Robertson's cross is this time cut out by Elneny for a corner. Its played short, it is eventually played into Mane who low shot is blocked for another corner. Robertson fires in another cross and Mane's flicked header goes wide.
Robertson's low cross is cut out by Bellerin for a corner, it came about from a sloppy pass from Luiz. The corner is headed away by Holding.
Joe Gomez tries a shot from around 30 yards with his weaker left foot but its high and not particularly handsome.
Mane's cross is blocked by Luiz at full stretch, it comes back to Robertson who sends in a delicious cross which just evades Salah at the back post.
Auba pays tribute to Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman who died of cancer aged 43.
VAR had a quick check at whether Mane was fouled by Bellerin in the box and rules no foul.
Slicker passing from the Reds but Arsenal have everyone behind the ball and are holding firm. Robertson fires in a cross which Martinez does well to palm away.

Liverpool have been a bit uncharacteristically sloppy with their passing in their own half.
Good defending from the Gunners. Elneny blocked Milner's shot then Salah found the veteran with a clever pass in the box and his cross was cleared.
This has been an impressive start from Arsenal's attacking players on the counter attack, particular Aubameyang and Saka.
GOOD SAVE! Gomez makes a mistake, Xhaka finds Saka who cuts it back to Nketiah whose tame shot from close range is palmed away by Alisson for a corner. Saka's corner is gathered by the Brazil keeper.
Aubameyang has scored 5 goals at Wembley this summer.
Williams did not get close enough to the Gabon striker, after he ran onto Saka's crossfield ball, and he punished Liverpool.

CLOSE! Inviting cross from Williams and an unmarked Milner heads over from close range. He should have found the target, he appeared to mistime his jump.
Van DIjk still has a plaster over his cut eye which he sustained in the 2-2 draw with Salzburg.

Excluding Manchester City last year, the winners of the FA Cup have beaten the league champions in four of the last five Community Shield matches with Arsenal winning three of those (2014, 2015 and 2017).
It has been a fairly cagey start. Robertson's curling cross towards Salah is clumsily cut out by Tierney and Martinez has to make a save.
Interesting call from Arteta to stick with Martinez, who had a good end to the season, with Leno fit again.

It's stat time. Since his Liverpool debut in 2015, Roberto Firmino has both scored (8) and been directly involved (11 - 8 goals, 3 assists) in more goals against Arsenal in all competitions than against any other opponent.
Jordan Henderson, in typical bullish fashion, says Liverpool are hungry for more success and they have put last season's title win behind them.
"To be honest, we haven't spoken about it [winning the league]," the Liverpool captain told the club's website.
"It's more about, 'Have you enjoyed your holiday?'
"We've been cracking on, really working hard. New season, new start and a lot more things we want to go on and achieve."
Mikel Arteta insists redundancies were needed at Arsenal to protect the club's future as he moved to defend the transfer business which followed the announcement of 55 redundancies.
Willian has signed a three-year contract, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to agree a new contract, and Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes could be confirmed in the coming days.
Arteta said: "If you are only looking at the financial point of view you can get some contradictory messages.
"But what is very clear is that the club had a very thorough plan of how they needed to restructure in order to function better and be more stable for the future.
"They were very convincing with every argument they gave to all of us that it was the right thing to do."
In the buildup to the game, Jurgen Klopp has ruled Liverpool out of the mix to sign a certain Barcelona player.
Compared to the Gunners side that won the FA Cup final, there is no Pepe, Lacazette, Willian and Sokratis today. And despite the clean slate no Ozil or Guendouzi in the squad.
