Juan Sebastian Veron is considering retiring from international football after Argentina's 3-0 Copa America final loss to Brazil.
The 32-year-old Estudiantes midfielder was one of the stand-out players in the Argentine league last season but is toying wit focusing on club affairs.
"I am not focused enough to think whether to continue in the team," the former Sampdoria, Parma, Lazio, Manchester United, Chelsea and Internazionale man said. "I am very sad. I think it's time to open doors to some of the younger boys.
"I'm disappointed because we failed to achieve what we were looking for."
Veron also feels that coach Alfio Basile should place the trust in youth that saw the likes of Leo Messi wow South American fans.
"We have to encourage young players," he declared.
"For them, it's not over. We have to guide them."
