Barcelona want the Copa del Rey final to be held at the home of bitter rivals Real Madrid, according to reports.
Luis Enrique’s men are set to make the request to the Spanish Football Federation following their 3-2 defeat of Atletico Madrid in the semi-final which set up a showdown with Alaves, who beat Celta Vigo 1-0 in the second leg of their last-four meeting on Wednesday night.
However, although the final pairing means that the Bernabeu is a viable option for the two clubs, there may be competition from cross-city rivals Atletico, who, according to Spanish paper Sport, are keen to host the showpiece event.
Although Real have hosted Barcelona for finals in the past, they are not usually willing to deck their stadium in the colours of their rivals and are also due to have work done on their venue.
In which case, the decision may come down to Alaves as both venues are able to hold enough fans for a final.
