Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Europa League quarter-final first leg between Arsenal and Slavia Prague. Mikel Arteta’s side are 10 points off the Premier League’s top four and some way off the Europa League places, so you’d fancy they need to win this competition to have a chance of playing in Europe next season.

The last time Arsenal played Slavia at home? 2007 in the Champions League, and the Gunners thrashed the Czech side 7-0! Theo Walcott got two, as did Cesc Fabregas. A third placed finish that season in the Premier League, a League Cup semi-final and a Champions League quarter-final. That was regarded as a very average season back then...you'd take that now, Arsenal fans?

Slavia Prague are full of confidence, on an unbeaten run in all competitions since December 10, when they were heavily beaten by Bayer Leverkusen in this competition. But since then, they’ve put out Leicester - currently the Premier League’s third best team - and Scottish Premiership champions Rangers in a controversial last-16 tie. Impressive wins though, and just the type of opponent Arsenal fans have come to fear…

Arsenal go into this on the back of a dismal performance against Liverpool. Not only did the north Londoners show little threat, they also lost one of few players to have made a real impression this season, with Tierney ruled out for up to six weeks. But two of their other standouts are back from injury - Saka and Smith Rowe - and that’s a huge boost. No wins in three in all competitions though, and Arteta’s team last tasted victory almost a month ago, against rivals Tottenham.

The big team news is that Martin Odegaard is missing for the Gunners, having nursed an ankle knock since international duty with Norway. He’s one of six changes made by Arteta - in the full-back positions, Hector Bellerin replaces Calum Chambers, who’s not involved and Cedric Soares comes in for the injured Kieran Tierney. Granit Xhaka comes in for Dani Ceballos in midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe and Bakayo Saka return from injury, while Willian also gets a start - Odegaard’s out of the squad, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe drop to the bench.
