Slavia have the away goal and return to the Czech Republic with the advantage in this tie. Arsenal were wasteful throughout, missing good chances through Saka, Willian and Lacazette - and despite their substitutes making a real difference, and Pepe making an instant impact, it was a lapse in concentration right at the end which punished Arsenal with Holes' goal. Thank you for joining us - goodnight!

All over in north London. Pepe thought he had earned the win for Arsenal off the bench, only for Holes to steal an equaliser right at the end!

Four minutes of added time to play...

90'

The subs have made a huge difference...when they eventually came.

89'

Another change for Arsenal, as Dani Ceballos replaces Smith Rowe.

  • Nicolas Pépé
GoalNicolas PépéArsenalGOOOOAL! It's Pepe! He's looked great since coming on and the forward breaks through from an Aubameyang ball, with his left foot he dinks his effort over the goalkeeper and Arsenal lead. The subs have made the difference!

84'

Another change for Slavia, with Lukas Masopust coming on for Stanciu.

84'
82'

Another good chance falls to Martinelli just inside the box, his effort is tipped over the bar by Kolar.

81'

Good from Arsenal again and Pepe looks in the mood, his cross is well blocked.

78'

Almost an instant impact! Smith Rowe links up well with Pepe and then puts a lovely cross in from the right, but Aubameyang can't get a decent enough connection on it and his effort goes wide.

78'

Aubameyang, Pepe and Elneny on for Saka, Lacazette and Partey.

77'

Oh my, this is a big chance for Slavia. Cedric's clearance from a cross is poor and it's only as far as Sevcik, who shoots wide inside the box.

76'

Triple change coming up for Arsenal, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed Elneny all preparing to come on.

75'

Partey is teed up by Saka on the edge of the area but he side foots a shot wide.

75'

It really was a massive chance for Lacazette, and he knows it. Is that the closest they'll come tonight?

Alexandre Lacazette missed a huge chance for Arsenal
73'

First change for Arsenal, with Gabriel Martinelli replacing Willian. Can that make the difference?

71'

Almost an instant impact from Kuchta, who drives through but can't get a clean shot away.

Dorley, who conceded possession for that Lacazette chance, comes off to be replaced by Ondrej Lingr and Sima's night is over, with Jan Kuchta taking his place.

68'

Double change coming up for Slavia...

67'

Arsenal have hit the woodwork twice and missed a one-on-one now...and that last chance from Lacazette was a big one too.

66'

Another big chance for Arsenal comes and goes and it's Lacazette again. Saka delivers a lovely ball from the right and his team-mate, on the stretch, puts the ball over the bar.

64'

It was a massive opportunity...

62'

Huge chance! How on earth has Lacazette not scored this?! He steals the ball on the half-way line and runs the length of the half with no one in front of him. The French striker takes his time to pick his spot - but hits the upright. Massive opportunity missed for the home side.

60'

An hour played and still no goals. Arsenal no where near their best...time for a change?

58'

CHANCE! Best opportunity of the game for the visitors who work the ball well to Boril, but the captain's shot is saved by the legs of Leno.

57'
55'

A rare poor moment from Saka, after Lacazette sets up a counter attack well he plays it to the winger but his cross is poor with the situation three on three.

54'

Really promising driving run from Partey, who goes past a number of Slavia players but then cuts back and plays it to the opposition...it was pretty good up to that point!

53'

Slight concern for Gabriel who is feeling his foot after a tough challenge, but he looks likely to play on, despite plenty of grimacing.

51'

Decent attack from Slavia, who win the corner. It's taken deep to Stanciu who thumps a volley from the edge of the area which is blocked by Arsenal. No-one had picked out the Romanian, but it would have been some goal.

49'

OFF THE WOODWORK! Willian eventually takes the resulting free-kick, after a check to see if should actually be a penalty, and the Brazilian clips the post with a brilliant effort from the right edge of the box.

47'

Brilliant play from Saka, exchanging passes with Hector Bellerin, and the England international wins a free-kick just outside the penalty area. Zima just can't live with Saka and he's been booked.

We're back underway for the second half.

-

Elsewhere, Manchester United are 1-0 up at Granada through Marcus Rashford. Villarreal are winning 1-0 at Dinamo Kiev, moving a possible reunion closer for Arsenal and their former manager Unai Emery. Ajax lead Roma 1-0.

-

Saka's such a huge talent, and was definitely the most impressive player in that first half. But he also missed the best chance, putting a shot wide when one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Bukayo Saka missed the best chance of the first half
-

It's not been great, though...

  • End of 1st Half
HT

That's the whistle for the break, no stoppage time. Not a lot to talk about in that half. Arsenal have been marginally the better side, but it's all been very slow. Saka had by far the best chance of the half but his shot was wide of the far post, and Holding's header forced a decent enough tip over the bar from Kolar. But you'd expect more from the home side. Very little from the visitors, who look very organised and well set up.

44'

Really clever ball from Lacazette midway inside the Slavia half finds Saka, whose cross goes out for a corner. Boril clears well with his head and the visitors can reset again.

42'

40'

From the corner, Arsenal aren't able to put Slavia under pressure and the visitors survive. The home side starting to stamp some authority on this game but no goal yet.

39'

Arsenal keep the ball alive though and Cedric does use his left foot to get a decent cross in, Holding's still up from the free-kick and forces Kolar to tip his header over the bar.

39'

A wasted free-kick...Lacazette takes it but it's straight into the wall.

37'

Arsenal counter from a Slavia attack and Saka wins a free-kick in an excellent position following a foul by Provod. This is a great chance...

36'

First shot on target for Slavia goes to Peter Olayinka, but the Nigerian forward's low shot from the edge of the box doesn't cause any problems for Leno to easily get down and gather.

34'

David Zima gets away with a warning after a deliberate handball to halt play, and Arsenal look to build an attack again.

32'

Another half-chance for Saka, this time he shoots optimistically from the edge of the box, but it's easily gathered by Kolar.

31'

Cedric just doesn't trust his left foot...Arsenal counter quickly and release the left-back down the wing, but he switches back on to his right foot and the attack loses its sting.

29'

Big chance for Saka, who beats the offside trap and drives into the box from the right. One-on-one with Kolar, he side foots his effort wide of the far post. The assistant referee raises his flag but replays show he was definitely onside. Best opportunity of the game and Saka should really score that.

28'

Thomas Partey drives through the centre of midfield and goes wide to the right to pick out Lacazette, the French striker has time to shoot but he mishits his effort way off target.

26'

First we've seen of Sima, using his pace down the left to get away from his marker, but Arsenal get back to cover.

25'

Decent little spell by Arsenal, this time it's a flashing ball across the box from Rob Holding on the right but there's no team-mate there to get a shot away.

25'

Saka is the man to deliver it and he finds Gabriel, but the defender is unable to make clean contact with his header and Slavia easily deal with the danger.

24'

Willian does well down the left to win a free-kick, about 6 yards from the goal-line and 3 from the touchline.

23'

Lots of appreciation for Saka so far.

22'

Saka by far the most likely player to make something happen for Arsenal so far, he easily beats Jan Boril down the right but the England international's cross is headed clear by Alexander Bah.

21'

It's quite a job to fill the boots of Kieran Tierney, but Cedric's doing that tonight. The Portugal full-back's first real attack sees him cut back on to his preferred right foot but there's no-one in the box and it's gathered by the goalkeeper.

19'

Not much joy for Arsenal so far. Slavia look pretty comfortable, even when the home side are attempting a high press. The Czechs look a very organised team.

17'
15'

Half-chance for Slavia, a cross finds its way to Lukas Provod on the edge of the area, but he side foots his shot just over the bar with Bernd Leno on the stretch. Highlight of the game so far, though.

13'

The teams marked their stand against racism in different ways this evening, Arsenal taking the knee and Slavia linking arms.

11'

11 minutes played and very little to report so far - both sides still getting a feel for this one.

10'

Nice ball over the top from Saka and Alexandre Lacazette reads it, but it's ever so slightly over hit and the ball is gathered by Kolar.

9'

Decent little attack from Slavia, and Nicolae Stanciu forces Bellerin to concede a corner. It's played short and Oscar Dorley's shot from the edge of the area hits his own team-mate.

7'

Slavia keeper Ondrej Kolar is playing his first game since the win over Rangers after colliding with Kemar Roofe - he's wearing both a mask and a skull cap to protect himself.

5'

Arsenal attack and Saka almost weaves some space for himself to shoot in the area, but Tomas Holes thumps the ball up field to clear,

2'

Arsenal starting the game ever so slightly brighter, but no chances in the very early stages. Xhaka concedes a free-kick for an over aggressive tackle in centre field.

  • 1st Half
1'

We're underway at Arsenal.

19:59

Here we go then, can Arsenal make the most of home advantage or will Slavia's astonishing run of 20 games unbeaten continue.

19:57

The teams are out in north London Arsenal first, led out by captain for the night Hector Bellerin, followed by the visitors.

19:54

Not to put a kiss of death on this, but Arsenal have never lost to a Czech side in Europe...

19:50

10 minutes to go until kick-off, and Arteta's been talking to BT Sport ahead of the match.

On dropping Aubameyang to the bench: "We have to pick the right team to start the game the best possible way and have the right options to change it."

On recovering from the Liverpool defeat: "It's out of the system now, we have to focus on the importance of this game, play with that ambition, desire and passion that this game deserves."

19:43

A little thread here about the complications of European qualification in England...and how it affects Arsenal.

19:41

It’s fair to say Slavia see themselves as the underdog for this tie. Midfielder Lukas Provod says winning this would be a huge achievement: "Arsenal are a huge club, we all know it; we all watched them as kids. We have set ourselves the goal of advancing and, if we succeed, it would be from the realm of dreams."

19:38

That victory over Leicester was just their second win in 13 UEFA matches against English opposition...

19:34

There have been some stinging insults thrown at Arsenal this week by...a club legend. Emmanuel Petit says the club’s becoming a place for players to go on vacation and reckons half the squad need to go in the summer. Arteta’s been reacting to that.

Video - 'I’m here to change Petit’s opinion' - Arteta accepts Arsenal criticism

00:49
19:29

You fancy Arsenal need a good result at home to settle the nerves going into an away fixture in the Czech capital, although they are of course the favourites. Slavia can’t be underestimated and are in red-hot form. Arteta’s side will need to pay particular attention to Senegal forward Abdallah Sima, a hot property who is reportedly receiving attention from West Ham. The winner of this, by the way, would take on either Dinamo Zagreb or Villareal in the last four.

19:24

The last time Arsenal played Slavia at home? 2007 in the Champions League, and the Gunners thrashed the Czech side 7-0! Theo Walcott got two, as did Cesc Fabregas. A third placed finish that season in the Premier League, a League Cup semi-final and a Champions League quarter-final. That was regarded as a very average season back then...you'd take that now, Arsenal fans?

Theo Walcott scored twice the last time Arsenal played Slavia
19:18

Slavia Prague are full of confidence, on an unbeaten run in all competitions since December 10, when they were heavily beaten by Bayer Leverkusen in this competition. But since then, they’ve put out Leicester - currently the Premier League’s third best team - and Scottish Premiership champions Rangers in a controversial last-16 tie. Impressive wins though, and just the type of opponent Arsenal fans have come to fear…

Nicolae Stanciu scores for Slavia against Rangers
19:13
19:10

Arsenal go into this on the back of a dismal performance against Liverpool. Not only did the north Londoners show little threat, they also lost one of few players to have made a real impression this season, with Tierney ruled out for up to six weeks. But two of their other standouts are back from injury - Saka and Smith Rowe - and that’s a huge boost. No wins in three in all competitions though, and Arteta’s team last tasted victory almost a month ago, against rivals Tottenham.

Kieran Tierney picked up the injury during the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool
19:07

The big team news is that Martin Odegaard is missing for the Gunners, having nursed an ankle knock since international duty with Norway. He’s one of six changes made by Arteta - in the full-back positions, Hector Bellerin replaces Calum Chambers, who’s not involved and Cedric Soares comes in for the injured Kieran Tierney. Granit Xhaka comes in for Dani Ceballos in midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe and Bakayo Saka return from injury, while Willian also gets a start - Odegaard’s out of the squad, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe drop to the bench.

19:05

ARSENAL: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Cedric, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Smith Rowe, Willian, Lacazette...Subs: Ryan, Hein, Mari, Lopez, Elneny, Ceballos, Azeez, Nelson, Pepe, Nketiah, Martinelli, Aubameyang. /// SLAVIA: Kolar, Bah, Holes, Zima, Boril, Hromada, Oscar, Stanciu, Provod, Olayinka, Sima...Subs: Kovar, Stejskal, Tecl, Kuchta, Sevcik, Traore, Masopust, Lingr, Visinsky.

19:03

Here comes your team news...

19:00

Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Europa League quarter-final first leg between Arsenal and Slavia Prague. Mikel Arteta’s side are 10 points off the Premier League’s top four and some way off the Europa League places, so you’d fancy they need to win this competition to have a chance of playing in Europe next season.
