GOAL FOR CHILE! Sanchez is through on goal, his shot is blocked and it falls to Vargas who tucks the ball in from close range after a review from the VAR.

CLOSE! Diaz tries his luck form distance but fires a shot over.

Chile have finished the game off strongly despite their lack of a ruthless finisher.

Ngamaleu is on for Siani for the final few minutes.

This could mean the fifth defeat in a row Cameroon have suffered against South American opposition.

Chile look to have a second wind, Pizzi has thrown the kitchen sink with three changes.

Fai and Vidal are involved in some handbags after the Bayern man collides with him before he calms him down.

The VAR debate rumbles on..

Cameroon look to have more in the tank as we enter the final 15 minutes. Are Chile still irked by their disallowed goal and the age it took to overturn Vargas' strike?

CHANCE! Aranguiz cuts the ball back for Vargas whose drive is deflected wide. Meanwhile, Moukandjo is being treated for a knock on his knee.

Chile, who face Australia on Thursday, look a little jaded and out of ideas despite the introduction of Sanchez.

Moukandjo steps up and curls the free-kick narrowly wide of the left-hand post with a short backlift.

SANCHEZ IS ON: The Arsenal man is on for Puch and needs one more goal to go past Marcelo Salas' goalscoring record of 37 for his country.

CLOSE! Anguissa bursts forward down the left and fires in an inswinging low cross which the keeper parries behind for a corner. The set piece is easily collected by Herrera.

There is a huge roar in the crowd as Sanchez warms up.

Cameroon's players said they wanted to put in a good performance in this tournament in memory of Marc Vivien Foe, who died during the 2003 competition against France. They certainly have done that today.

Vidal cuts inside on the edge of the box and lets fly from distance but it goes well over, the Bayern man has dominated the midfield battle.

CHANCE! Moukandjo gets a flick of a header at the back post from Mabouka's cross but it hits the side netting.

KICK OFF! Cameroon get the second period underway.

  • End of 1st Half

HALF TIME: The referee brings the half to and end on that controversial note and it remains 0-0. VAR deemed Vargas' goal was off-side although replays showed he was a yard on.

GOAL IS DISALLOWED! Chile are furious after the goal is chalked off by the VAR for an apparent off-side. Replays showed Vargas was just off side by a whisker.

GOAL! Vargas lifts the ball over the keeper from close range after a wonderfully weighted ball from Vidal.

A wasted chance for Cameroon on the counter attack with an astray pass from Moukandjo.

Cameroon win a corner down the right. Moukandjo chips the ball to the near post and Teikeu's glancing header goes well wide. The delivery from set pieces has been a source of joy for the African side

WHAT A MISS! Vidal threads the ball through to Vargas who takes a touch in the box and blazes his effort over the bar.

An AC DC flag in the crowd..

This game is crying out for Sanchez to show a clinical touch to score, it has been too tippy-tappy in the final third from Pizzi's side.

CLOSE! Fuenzalida loses the ball under pressure, it falls to Moukandjo who runs towards goal and hammers a shot inches wide of the goal.

Vidal wins a free-kick midway in the Cameroon after being chopped from behind by Siani. The delivery from Aranguiz is headed clear, its played back in but there's an off-side flag.

Hugo Broos will be pleased with his side's display after being under the cosh in the opening minutes, they look more confident.

GOOD GOALKEEPING! Vargas' through ball in the box is palmed away by the keeper as Fuenzalida was running onto it, that looked a certain goal.

GOOD SAVE! Puch forces the keeper into a good save with a swerving effort from distance.

Aranguiz is furious after a crunching challenge from Djoum which caused his shorts to come down, no yellow card given.

We have reached the midway point of the half. Chile made a bright start nearly scoring twice but the Africa Cup of Nations winners have grown into the game and look dangerous from set pieces.

WHOOPS! Jara slips on the ball near his own box but manages to hac the ball clear before Aboubakar could get to it, that was nearly Gerrard-esque against Chelsea.

DISALLOWED GOAL! Djoum wins a free-kick after a collision with Vidal. Ngadeu connects with the set piece to head the ball in but the whistle had blown for a push on Vidal in the build-up, that looked a harsh decision.

Ondoa does well to race off his line to collect the ball as Fuenzalida was about to pounce, that was good goalkeeping.

CLOSE! Isla's low ball from the right across goal after another promising move is hacked away by Ngadeu. The Indomitable Lions are hanging on here.

CHANCE! Medel gifts Cameroon possession with a shocking pass, Aboubakar cuts inside and forces Herrera into a good save with Jara putting the ball over for a corner. The resulting set piece finds Ngadeu whose header is well over.

Herrera, deputising for the injured Bravo, nervously clears a backpass under pressure. That was heart-in-mouth-stuff for Chile.

The selection of Ondoa over Ajax keeper Onana has been controversial but he has made a good start.

GOOD SAVE! Fuenzalida flicks the ball over the defender's head and gets a shot in on the stretch which Ondoa does well to parry. The keeper is furious with his defence.

Cameroon look to be going 4-5-1, inviting Pizzi's side onto them and they nearly came unstuck early on.

POST! Vargas hits the near post with a first time strike from inside the area. The keeper is lucky that the ball ricocheted off him on the rebound and went over the bar.

KICK OFF! The South American side get the game underway.

Former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o is in the crowd in a stunning camouflage jacket. Five minutes until kick-off in Moscow!

Sanchez is on the bench tonight but may come on if Pizzi's side need some extra firepower.

Chile are one of the pre-tournament favourites in their first Confederations Cup but they are not in the best form having lost 3-2 to Romania on Tuesday and previously drawing 1-1 with Russia.

Germany and Asia Cup winners Australia are the other sides in this group and face off tomorrow.

CAMEROON: Ondoa, Mabouka, Anguissa, Teikeu, Ngadeu, Moukandjo, Aboubakar, Bassogog, Siani, Djoum, Fai

CHILE: Herrera, Isla, Fuenzalida, Vidal, Vargas, Beausejour, Medel, Jara, Aranguiz, Diaz, Puch.

Earlier today, Mexico grabbed a stoppage time equaliser to draw 2-2 with Portugal.

Alexis Sanchez has been omitted from Chile's starting line-up due to an ankle injury and will start on the bench so its Edu Vargas, with Edson Puch and Jose Pedro Fuenzalida leading the line.

The last time these two sides faced each other was the 1998 World Cup in France, it was a 1-1 draw.

Cameroon striker Benjamin Moukandjo believes his side's team spirit can help them in the tournament. He said: "When it's just us, we tell jokes and make fun of each other. But once we're out on the training pitch, everything gets serious again - we know when we need to get down to work. Over time, we all became firm friends."

Hello and welcome to LIVE commentary as Chile get their Confederations Cup campaign underway against reigning African Cup of Nations champions Cameroon. Kick-off is at 19:00 BST.
