Egyptian champions Al Ahly took third place in the World Club Cup with a 2-1 victory over Mexican side Club America.

Reading target Mohamed Aboutreika put the Cairo outfit ahead three minutes before half time, though Salvador Cabanas headed home Cuauhtemoc Blanco's cross on the hour mark for to equalise for America.

Aboutreika then combined superbly with Flavio on 79 minutes, before rifling a low shot past Guillermo Ochoa in the Mexico goal to secure victory for his side.
