The European champions ground out a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday, and boarded a flight to Tokyo on Sunday, though only arrived on the Monday due to the eight-hour time difference between the two countries.
"We still feel a bit groggy with the effects of jetlag. The muscles are still stiff and we're definitely not 100 percent.
"We're supposed to be the favourites but I am sure America will be in better physical condition. They're a dangerous team and it will be a difficult game."
Captain Carles Puyol emphasised the importance of winning the competition, and adding to the Barcelona cabinet the only trophy the club is yet to win.
"For us it is extremely important to write this new chapter in Barca's history. We don't expect it to be easy but we have come here to win the title."
Should the Spanish giants progress to the final, they would meet either Egyptian champions Al Ahly or Copa Libertadores winners Internacional.
Much has been made of their wonderkid Pato Alexandre - or "Alex the duck" - who delivered a sensational performance on his debut against Palmeiras last week, scoring one goal after just two minutes, and setting up two more goals in a 4-1 rout.
Ronaldinho, the current World Player of the Year, said he had already heard of the youngster's impressive exploits.
"I know about all of Inter's players because they're Brazilian. I've heard he is a big talent with great potential. But I've never seen him play," he commented.
