Arsenal have confirmed that head of recruitment Sven Mislintat will leave the club next month.
The German only joined the Gunners in December 2017 but will have been in his position for under 14 months when he leaves on 8 February.
Arsenal released a statement on their website, saying Mislintat had “done a truly outstanding job in helping us recruit players who are making a big impact now and will do so even more in the future”.
The German oversaw eight signings during his time with the north London club, with varying success. Matteo Guendouzi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Lucas Torreira and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang have all proven to be a hit so far.
But the jury is still out on Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Mislintat described his 14 months at the Emirates as an "amazing experience", but it was widely reported that changes made by the club behind the scenes and Ivan Gazidis' departure for AC Milan last September contributed to his departure.
“I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself," he said.
Mislintat worked alongside Gazidis and director of football Raul Sanllehi to choosse Unai Emery as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars is reportedly in line to replace Mislintat, who in turn has been linked with turning his services to Bayern Munich.
