Man Utd to swoop for Maguire

We begin with the back page of The Star, which has an exclusive that says that Manchester United are going to make a £65 million move for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire over the summer. United were heavily linked to Maguire last summer but a deal wasn't done. However, interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is set to get the job on a permanent basis, has given the green light for another attempt to sign the England international this summer.
Paper Round's view: Is this a good enough move for Manchester United? They need to sign a genuinely world-class central defender to anchor that defence, Paper Round is not sure Maguire is that player. He is a very good defender, but he is not one of the very best in the world. United were reportedly looking at someone like Kalidou Koulibaly, that would make far more sense surely? Even if it is more expensive.

Chelsea considering Lampard and Nuno

We now have two exclusives from The Sun and the first is on the back page, claiming that Chelsea are considering Nuno and Frank Lampard should they dispense with Maurizio Sarri. The club want to avoid sacking Sarri before the end of the season if they can but they are concerned that he may not be the answer long-term. The club have been impressed by the work done by Nuno this season, with the Wolves boss taking four points off Chelsea this season, but they are aware a Lampard-Jody Morris double-act would be what the fans want.
Paper Round's view: Chelsea need to hit the reset button. They need to accept that times are changing. Getting Lampard and Morris in, possibly with a certain John Terry as well, and giving them time to focus on promoting the younger players could be exactly what is needed. Chelsea have an extraordinary cast of former players to call upon, why not start using them?

Herrera to join PSG on a free

We now go to our second Sun exclusive which says that Ander Herrera is now expected to join PSG on a free transfer. The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer but was looking likely to sign a new deal at Old Trafford. However this report says that PSG have moved for the midfielder and now he is expected to join the French champions on a deal worth £150,000-a-week.
Paper Round's view: This would be an extremely surprising move and a blow to United. Herrera is not the best midfielder at United but he's an important player and he is even being spoken about as a potential future captain. He would be a big addition for PSG, who have struggled for some time in the middle of the park.

Liverpool won't recall Karius, Moreno set for Lazio switch

We end with a double report from The Mirror. The report says that despite reports suggesting that Besiktas want to cut Loris Karius' loan Liverpool will not be recalling the goalkeeper early and they have not been contacted by the Turkish side. It also reports that Alberto Moreno is likely to move on at the end of his contract and Lazio want to offer him a five-year deal.
Paper Round's view: This isn't too surprising. Liverpool don't need Karius back on the books and Moreno fell out of favour some time ago. After making some blockbuster moves to improve his first team it looks as if Jurgen Klopp is trimming the fat of his squad.
