Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham side produdced a stunning display as they crushed Inter Milan 6-1 in a pre-season friendly.
New signing Vincent Janssen scored his first goal for Spurs, with Harry Kane bagging two goals and Dele Alli also getting on the scoresheet - the latter two details sure to please England manager Sam Allardyce.
For Inter, however, things could scarcely look worse. It is Roberto Mancini’s side’s fourth loss of a pre-season where they have also been beaten by Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and CSKA Sofia.
Ivan Perisic cancelled out Kane’s early penalty to level things up at 1-1 in the first half, but that was as good as it got for the Nerazzurri in Oslo.
From the moment Erik Lamela restored the Premier League team’s lead shortly before half time, it was a procession, with second half goals from Alli, Kane again, Janssen and Shayon Harrison completing the rout.
The result will do nothing to ease speculation surrounding Mancini’s future, with the coach having held talks with the club’s hierarchy last week in a bid to resolve differences of opinion over transfer strategy.
