All items of jewellery, including rings, necklaces and earrings are forbidden and must be removed before entering the field, according to FIFA's players' equipment law.
TV footage showed Cikos struggling as the wedding ring remained stuck on his finger despite several attempts by the 30-year-old Slovakian right back and members of Debrecen's staff to take it off.
After seven fruitless minutes, the match began with Cikos being replaced by Erik Kusnyir in Debrecen's starting lineup.
The game ended 3-3 with Debrecen, who won the Hungarian title seven times between 2005 and 2014, reducing a two-goal deficit with two late strikes.
Debrecen are fourth in the standings with nine points from five matches, a point behind 23-times Hungarian champions MTK, who are third.
