The 27-year-old has suffered a suspected knee ligament injury.
Newport captain Joss Labadie has suffered a season-ending injury during training.
The 27-year-old former West Brom youth player missed Saturday’s 1-1 League Two draw at home to Luton with a suspected anterior cruciate ligament injury which could keep him sidelined for up to 12 months.
The player posted on Twitter on Monday: “Gutted my season has come to a premature end. Thank you all for the messages. See you in Sept/Oct #UTC.”
Newport boss Michael Flynn said the club would be awaiting news of Labadie’s scan results this week.
He told the club’s official website: “We’re waiting on the scan results for Joss, it doesn’t look good if I’m honest.
“Joss has a suspected ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury and I’ll know more this week.
“There’s a big time frame for that – anything between six and 12 months. So it’s not good news that’s for sure.
“He’s had a fantastic season, he’s a fantastic lad and he is respected by all the players. He’s also respected by myself because he comes in day in day out and gives us his all.
“These things happen. It was a training ground incident, nothing bad, a player landed on top of him.”
