German champions Bayern Munich crashed to a 4-0 defeat to AC Milan with Patrick Cutrone scoring twice for the Italian giants in Shenzhen.
Franck Kessie and Hakan Calhanoglu also netted against Carlo Ancelotti's team, who lost on penalties to Arsenal in their opening match in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday.
Ancelotti will not be hitting the panic button after this reverse, but must be wondering how a team that included Mats Hummels, David Alaba, Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski contrived to lose so heavily to his former team.
"The result surprised me somewhat. We didn't play well and are disappointed about that," said Ancelotti.
19-year-old Cutrone scored twice after Kessie had opened the scoring on 14 minutes. Hakan Calhanoglu added a fourth with only five minutes remaining.
New Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci - signed from Juventus - appeared as second-half substitute, but the hard work had been done by then with Bayern looking oddly disjointed.
Bayern next face Chelsea in SIngapore on Tuesday while Milan face Craiova in competitve action in the the first leg of Europa League qualifying.
