FT

That's it, England have won 3-0.

90+2

GOOD SAVE! Ward-Prowse thunders in a shot from 25 yards. It bounces right before the dive of Hennessey, but he takes the sting out of it well and gathers at the second attempt.

90'

Mount and Ings combine well down the right. Ings has a chance to play Mount through with a reverse pass, but it's slightly overhit and Wales clear. We'll have two additional minutes.

88'

Matondo has had a frustrating night down the left for Wales, but does well to win a corner off Keane from a run down the wing.

87'

A lull here as Mepham is down, he seems to have tweaked his knee.

86'

Maitland-Niles is mustard keen to make his mark here. He’s already had one mazy run into the box, and tries to run Neco Williams with a flat sprint down the left here. Williams goes all the way with him though and Maitland-Niles eventually loses his footing as he tries to cut back inside the area.

83'

EXCELLENT SAVE! Cute play from England on the right edge of the area finds Ings, who tries to curl one to the far corner which Hennesey does well to turn around the post. On the replay it becomes a better save than it first appeared as Ings’ shot caught a slight deflection.

81'

Barnes spins Mepham with a lovely turn in the centre of the Welsh half, forcing the defender to bring him down. Free kick to England 35 yard from goal.

78'

There was a sharp edge to this game in the second half, but the two England goals and the morass of substitutions seem to have dulled it considerably. Such is the way with international friendlies.

76'

Three changes for England – Harvey Barnes, James Ward-Prowse and Ashley Maitland-Niles replace Saka, Ings and Grealish.

73'

Two more changes for Wales, as Matthew Smith and Chris Gunter replace Williams and Connor Roberts.

71'

Matondo cuts in from the left and finds Vaulks on the edge of the area, but he can only slash his shot horribly over the bar.

70'

EXCELLENT SAVE! England work Saka into a shooting position on the left of the area. His drive catches a deflection and Hennessey adjusts well to make a superb one-handed save and parry the ball away.

69'

After being outplayed in the first half England are in control now, knocking the ball around comfortably.

66'

England are purring now. Lively work from Mount finds Grealish on the left. He has to turn away from goal but eventually gets it back, and fizzes a dangerous low cross into the area that Wales turn behind for a corner.

  • Danny Ings
GoalDanny IngsEnglandGOAL! England 3 (Ings 63) Wales 0 What a great goal! England win a corner and plug it into the back post. Mings heads it across the face of goal where Ings, six yards out, throws himself into an overhead kick and thumps the ball into the net!

62'

Will Vaulks replaces Ampadu for Wales.

61'

England have been much better this half, and have got more of a grip on the midfield. Levitt is booked after a late one catches Winks in full flight.

58'

Changes afoot for England; Calvert-Lewin, Trippier and Gomez depart, Tyrone Mings, Reece James and Mason Mount come on.

57'

Ampadu has fouled Grealish one too many times now, and is booked.

56'

That was a lovely finish from Coady, as that wasn't an easy ball to guide home. Just to clarify the earlier substitutions, Morrell and Rodon came off.

  • Conor Coady
GoalConor CoadyEnglandGOAL! England 2 (Coady53) Wales 0 It’s two! From a free kick on the right Trippier whips in a stunning cross to the back post that cuts out the entire Welsh defence. Connor Coady arrives there to jab a crisp half-volley past Hennessey from the edge of the six-yard box and double England's lead.

52'

Wales have started well again, with Matondo nicking the ball high up the field and establishing possession for Wales. They can’t work an overlap to Connor Roberts on the right though, and England eventually win it back. Roberts was in space there, that was a good look at getting a decent cross in.

49'

Roberts wins a high ball against Keane. It breaks to the right of the area and Roberts has a yahoo from a wide angle, but drags it across goal and well wide.

  • 2nd Half
2ND HALF

We’re underway again, with two changes for Wales as Dylan Levitt and Ben Cabango enter the match.

  • End of 1st Half
HT

That's half-time.

45+2'

More good approach work from Wales, as they work the ball to Neco Williams on the right. He finds the head of Tyler Roberts, who can only get a faint touch to the ball ten yards from goal and the ball drifts away from danger.

45'

There will be a minimum of two added minutes.

43'

Phillips has been quiet thus far. He gets it out on the left and looks to find Grealish with a ball around the back of Mepham, but there’s too much on it. Lots of energy from Grealish so far, who looks minded to make a statement here.

43'

Connor Roberts is booked for flattening Saka.

42'

Tyler Roberts is playing through the middle for Wales in attack now, with Neco Williams on the right of the front three.

40'

Moore can’t carry on from his earlier knock and is replaced by Neco Williams. I imagine that’s precautionary with the Nations League in mind.

38'

CHANCE! From the corner England scramble the ball to Keane on the right of the area. His cross finds Coady, who brings the ball down but can only balloon a half-volley over the bar from 12 yards out. That was a clean look and a good chance.

37'

Saka has had s frustrating game so far at left wingback, but good interplay with Grealish down the left brings him into the game at last and his cross is deflected behind for a corner to England.

36'

More good play from Wales gets Connor Roberts into a crossing position again. He finds Moore in the England area but he’s double-marked with no support, and can only nod a soft ball into Pope’s hands.

34'

Moore is back up and we're underway again.

32'

A brief delay here as Moore is receiving treatment in the centre circle.

30'

CHANCE! A long ball over the top splits the England defence. A lovely touch from Moore cushions the ball down but Pope does superbly to nick the ball off his toes just as Moore looked to go around him.

28'

Williams whips a corner in for Wales, which Mepham meets but can only plant his header tamely at Pope.

  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin
GoalDominic Calvert-LewinEnglandGOAL! England 1 (Calvert-Lewin 26) Wales 0 It’s a debut goal for the hottest striker in Europe’s big five leagues. Grealish gets the ball in space on the right of the Welsh area. He jinks to his right and whips a lovely ball in to the six-yard box, where Calvert-Lewin rises to nod the ball home.
26'

GOAL! England 1 (Calvert-Lewin 26) Wales 0

It’s a debut goal for the hottest striker in Europe’s big five leagues. Grealish gets the ball in space on the right of the Welsh area. He jinks to his right and whips a lovely ball in to the six-yard box, where Calvert-Lewin rises to nod the ball home.

25'

Ings wins a free kick from Ampadu near the centre circle, which relieves some pressure.

24'

Connor Roberts tries to hang one up to the back post to Moore, but Pope is out well to claim the ball.

21'

A good break from Tyler Roberts wins a free kick for Wales, which Davies takes only to see cleared. Wales put the second ball back in the box and a weak header from Saka falls to Moore, who miscues his volley from the edge of the area wide of goal.

19'

More possession for Wales, who are serenely moving the ball around Wembley. There’s not much to this yet, but Wales look likely to create the first decent chance.

15'

Wales are very comfortable in possession here, stringing some 25 passes together but without any real openings being created.

12'

A long ball over the top almost catches Wales out. Calvert-Lewin looks to be behind Mepham for a second but can’t control the pass. Seconds later he latches on to a through pass into the area and goes around Hennessey, but the angle is tight and his cross-cum shot is cleared from near the line.

9'

Matondo makes a lovely run in from the left wing, gliding past two players and into the middle of the England half, but then his pass out to the right is intercepted.

7'

The corner comes in, but Keane takes it right off the head of Calvert-Lewin, who was unmarked, and the ball drifts out for a throw-in.

7'

Tripper and Ings link up down the right and win a corner for England.

5'

Wales get the first chance as Moore gets in behind England on the left. A shot from Tyler Roberts on the edge catches a deflection and drifts wide for a corner.

3'

Meandering possession across both back fours so far.

KO

We're underway.

20:02

Before kick-off there’s a tribute to players and members of the wider football family that have passed in the last 12 months. The players and management staff then take the knee, because black lives matter.

19:58

That's the anthems done at the deserted Wembley Stadium, it's time.

19:55

We're almost ready to go here. Your referee tonight is Scotland's Bobby Madden.

19:50

19:46

England have a big edge in a fixture that goes all the way back to the Kennington Oval 1879. It’s 67 wins to 14 for the English, with 21 draws. Wales last beat their rivals in 1984, during the last ever British Home Championship, when a baby-faced Mark Hughes scored the winner. Since then England have won five on the spin; the last of those was the biggest ever fixture between the two nations in Lens at Euro 2016.

19:41

While he made the obligatory noises about this match not being a friendly, Welsh boss Ryan Giggs has stressed that the Nations League visits to the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria in the coming days are his priority. That’s with good reason; Wales are on a fine run after securing qualification for what is now Euro 2021 followed by a pair of 1-0 wins over Finland and Bulgaria that got their Nations League campaign away to a flier. A good showing here would keep that momentum ticking along nicely.

19:35

Off-pitch problems have meant that Gareth Southgate has had to adopt the demeanour of a disappointed parent in the last couple of England get-togethers, but tonight he’ll get to see what an experimental young side can do on the pitch. The eleven that start tonight have just 54 caps between them to date. Given the recent form of some of his more high-profile regulars at the defensive end of the team Southgate should have a keen eye on how his back line copes tonight, before England resume Nations League action against Belgium on Sunday.

19:30

No Gareth Bale for Wales, he’s still recuperating from a knee injury and has yet to make his return in a Spurs shirt. There’s a first start in a Welsh shirt for Schalke 04’s Rabbi Matondo, while Ben Davies gets to captain his country tonight.

19:20

England’s plans this month have been heavily disrupted by the coronavirus. Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden were omitted from the original squad after breaching protocols in Iceland last month, while Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho were latterly excluded after doing likewise back in the UK this week. It’s a very inexperienced team for England, with debuts here for Bukayo Saka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

19:15

And your visitors, Wales:

Here’s your hosts, England:

19:05

Good evening and welcome to live coverage of this international friendly between England and Wales. Teams to follow from Wembley shortly.
