GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Portugal 4 (90+2 mins - Bruno Fernandes) Israel 0. It's a fourth goal for Portugal and that's a wonderful strike from Fernandes who finds the back of the net from the edge of the box! The goalkeeper had no chance with that. The Manchester United midfielder has played very well here.
There’s a distinct possibility that England could meet Portugal in the last 16 of the Euros. I hope Santos and Southgate have both got their teams practicing penalty shootouts!
There will be two minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Portugal have strength in depth all over the pitch. Indeed, Santos has world class options in every position. Only England and France have more individual quality than the Selecao.
Excellent goal by Cancelo. He is such a capable player and as I was saying earlier in the match, he is so important to the way Portugal get out from the back down the wing.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Portugal 3 (87 mins - Joao Cancelo) Israel 0. What a strike! Cancelo has been the best player on the pitch and he has now capped his performance with a goal! He cut inside off the right side and curled a powerful strike in at the far post! Brilliant, brilliant goal by the Man City full back.
Five years ago, Portugal were somewhat lucky to go all the way at Euro 2016. This summer, though, they are expected to be contenders such is the quality of their squad.
PICTURE: Ronaldo scored in the first half
If Portugal can make it through the Group of Death, they will stand a good chance of going far in the knockout rounds. They start their tournament with a fixture against Hungary.
Portugal have had the misfortune of landing in the so-called Group of Death at Euro 2020. They will face France, Germany and Hungary in Group F this summer. Challenging!
ZAHAVI... over! The Israeli striker gets across his marker to meet a low cross into the six yard box from the right wing, but Zahavi's shot is deflected over the crossbar by Silva!
He’s not the only Portuguese international to have had an excellent season at Lille. Fonte has enjoyed a career renaissance since making the move to France from Southampton.
Sanches has so much natural talent, but lost his way after making the move to Bayern Munich at a young age. He has, however, rediscovered his groove since joining Lille.
A year ago, Renato Sanches wouldn’t have been included in the Portugal squad for Euro 2020. However, the midfielder has had an excellent season for Lille, helping them to the French title. Will we see him late on here?
If there is a weakness to this Portugal squad it could be in the options they have to anchor the midfield. However, they still have Carvalho and Pereira to deploy in that area of the pitch.
Portugal came into this match on the back of a goalless draw against Spain at the Wanda Metropolitano. Santos will have been pleased with what he saw from his team in that performance.
Santos is accomplished in his own way, although not really in the club game. The veteran coach is one of the best at getting results out of a team at the top level of international soccer.
PICTURE: Fernandes has played well
Patricio, who isn’t starting tonight, could be on the move this summer. The Wolves goalkeeper is expected to be on the way out of Molineux with Jose Mourinho keen to take the veteran shot-stopper to Roma.
That was a good 70-minute performance from Ronaldo. He got on the score sheet and looked relatively sharp, although he could have scored one or two more. He'll be pleased.
Ronaldo comes off to be replaced by Guedes. Santos giving his main man a 20-minute rest.
Silva takes aim! The Portuguese striker gets the shot away from the edge of the opposition box, but it's straight at Marciano and the Israeli goalkeeper beats it away.
This was the second Portugal goal...
Mendes has done well this evening. Might he start at left back in the first game of Portugal's Euros campaign against Hungary next week? It's a distinct possibility...
Portugal have such an excellent record when it comes to producing young players. Only last week, they made the final of the U21 European Championships. They are prolific!
PICTURE: Ronaldo wants more
... and Dias comes off. He is replaced by Danilo who can play at centre back.
Changes for Portugal as Neves come off to be replaced by Moutinho...
Shot blocked! Ronaldo takes on the effort himself inside the area, but his shot is blocked before it could reach Marciano in the Israel goal. He wants a second one tonight!
This was the opener...
Chance for Bernardo! That probably should have been a third Portugal goal with Bernardo played through by Fernandes, but Marciano puts up a hand to make the save!
4-2-3-1 formation is a shape that suits this group of Portugal players with Ronaldo at the head of the pack. Fernandes, Felix and Jota offer a lot of fluidity in this system.
The last time Portugal lost a match was last November against France when they suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Nations League. Santos’ side don’t lose many matches. Tough to break down.
PICTURE: Fernandes-Ronaldo partnership!
Ronaldo thinks he should have been awarded a penalty kick for what he viewed as a foul in the box, but there wasn't much in that. They were only half-hearted appeals.
It's clear from the way Portugal have played this match so far that Cancelo will be very important to their system at the Euros. He's their primary way of getting out from the back.
Cancelo was central to Manchester City’s success in winning the Premier League last season. He is one of the best full backs in the game, capable of playing on either flank.
Portugal have a lot of flair and creativity, but it’s important that they have structure and Danilo is the sort of player who can provide that along with the likes of Carvalho.
Danilo Pereira is an underrated member of this Portugal team. He is capable of playing in a number of different positions, whether it’s in the defence or in the centre of the midfield.
Ronaldo in at the back post! The Portugal number seven just couldn't stretch far enough to divert a freekick delivery to the back post on target. Not far wide at all, though!
Very close! Dgani gets a bit lucky there! He intercepted a Cancelo cross into the middle and sent the ball towards his own goal, but it bounces just past the post. Let off for Israel!
PICTURE: Ronaldo scored the second
Jota is another Portugal player who has enjoyed an excellent season at club level. The Liverpool forward will be a key figure for the Selecao. He has grown and grown in importance.
Santos has made a change at the break and it's Silva who comes on for Jota.
The second half is under way! Portugal have a 2-0 lead against Israel in this friendly match.
HALF TIME: Portugal 2-0 Israel. The reigning European champions had a good half and made their dominance count right at the end with goals from Fernandes and Ronaldo.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Portugal 2 (44 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Israel 0. A second goal in two minutes for Portugal! Fernandes drives forward, he waits and waits and waits for Ronaldo to get back onside, the pass finally comes and Ronaldo squeezes the low finish underneath Marciano and into the net!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Portugal 1 (43 mins - Bruno Fernandes) Israel 0. Portugal have made the breakthrough and it's Fernandes who has found the back of the net! Cancelo got down the right side, cuts the pass back to Fernandes and the Manchester United attack slides a low finish past Marciano!
Portugal started quite strongly, but they have become more passive as the half has progressed. Israel looking quite comfortable at the moment as we approach half time.
Wild! Ronaldo lines up the freekick from 25 yards out, but that lands waaaaay wide. When was the last time Ronaldo scored one of those? He should have left it to Fernandes.
Zahavi is a very good international quality striker. He is a proven goalscorer for Israel. Indeed, it's the PSV Eindhoven centre forward who is providing the main threat tonight.
One wonders if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is watching this match. And if he is, what is he making of the relationship between Fernandes and Ronaldo? Interesting... just saying.
Once again, it was Fernandes and Ronaldo who linked up there. I reckon we might see that partnership quite a lot once the Euros get under way. On the same wave length.
Ronaldo is denied! A good chance for the Portugal number seven, but he is denied by Marciano who has had an excellent game so far. Ronaldo is starting to get frustrated.
PICTURE: Still goalless
Fernandes has been very lively in this first half so far. The Manchester United midfielder and Ronaldo have been the ones who have looked most likely to open the scoring...
He’s not involved tonight, but this summer’s Euros will be a big opportunity for Felix to show his quality. He has struggled to find his place at Atletico Madrid, but tends to be given more freedom for Portugal.
Israel finally get up the pitch for the first time in the match with the cross played into Zahavi down the left side, but Pepe gets in front of the striker to head away from danger.
A foul from Cancelo on Solomon. That's a sore one for the Israeli striker who has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League fairly recently. He's going to be fine. Back on his feet.
Claims for a handball! Cancelo nutmegs his opponent and attempts to get a cross into the box from the right side. The Man City full back thinks it was blocked by an Israeli hand.
Guerreiro is likely to start Portugal’s first game of the Euros at left back. He is the more experienced option, but Mendes has such raw potential. He could be a real superstar.
This summer’s Euros could be a real breakthrough moment for Nuno Mendes. The Sporting CP left back has been linked with both Barcelona and Manchester City. A lot of potential.
Mendes plays the cross into the Israeli penalty box from the left wing, but that's a relatively easy one for Marciano who comes off his line and gathers.
This close to a major tournament, the worst thing that can happen is injuries. Last night, for instance, saw Karim Benzema pick up a knock in France's friendly against Bulgaria.
It’s not exactly clear who will partner Dias in central defence for Portugal at the Euros. Fonte has had a good season for Lille and Pepe will offer Santos a lot of experience too. Tonight it’s Pepe.
Talking of players who have had excellent seasons in the Premier League, Dias will be a key figure for Portugal this summer. What a difference the centre back made for Manchester City.
Fernandes has had an exceptional season for Manchester United. He was one of the best individual performers in the Premier League. Can he carry that form into the Euros?
Ronaldo is Portugal’s top scorer and spiritual leader, but Santos has a lot of talent to support him with. Fernandes, for instance, will be charged with providing some goal threat and creativity.
You wouldn't really say that Israel have played poorly here in the opening 20 minutes or so, but it has been a dominant display by Portugal who really could be two or three up.
Ronaldo believes he should have been awarded a foul, but the referee, who had the whistle in his mouth, doesn't give the freekick. Portugal are well on top at the moment.
Neves from distance! The Wolves midfielder decides to take aim from the edge of the Israeli penalty area, but his shot flashes wide. Marciano was rooted to the spot, there.
How didn't it go in?! Fernandes plays a pass over the top for Ronaldo whose shot is saved by Marciano. Jota looked set to finish the rebound, but he couldn't make a connection!
JOTA... heads over! Cancelo gets down the right side and whips in a dangerous cross, Jota read the flight of it to get ahead of his man, but heads over the crossbar! Good chance!
Portugal will be built around Ronaldo as a focal point this summer. There is a lot of speculation about the 36-year-old’s future at the moment. Is he on his way out of Juventus?
Carvalho is back in the Portugal team this evening and he is already making a good impression in the centre of the pitch, spraying the passes around dictating things.
Of course, Portugal enter Euro 2020 as the defending European champions having won in France five years ago. If anything, Santos’ side have improved since then - they won the Nations League in 2019 as well.
Pass in behind! The ball was played beyond the last man for Ronaldo to chase, but the Juventus forward fouls his man quite clearly and the freekick is awarded to Israel.
Lots of possession fro Portugal early on. It was a different story in their last friendly match against Spain when they sat deep and invited pressure on top of themselves.
Portugal have made quite a quick start here. Ronaldo in particular doesn't look to be treating this as an inconsequential friendly just two days before the start of a tournament.
On the basis of their individual quality, Portugal will surely be among the frontrunners to win this summer’s European Championships. They have improved over the last five years.
What sort of match will we get this evening? It’s just two days until the start of Euro 2020. I hate to say it, but might this game be played at half-pace, at least by Portugal?
Ronaldo was offside! The Portuguese forward is unhappy with himself. He feels he should have found the back of the net after being played in behind, but the flag was up.
An early chance! Ronald picks up the ball, cuts inside and gets the shot away inside the box, but the Israeli goalkeeper Marciano gets down well to make the low save.
The match is under way! It's Portugal against Israel in this Euro 2020 warm-up match!
It's anthem time. Not long until kick off in this international friendly, the very last warm up match between the Euros start on Friday. Portugal are leaving it a bit late, you'd say!
Of course, Portugal are the reigning European champions having won in France five years ago. Can Santos and his players repeat the feat in 2021? They have to be fancied.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the match to let me know your thoughts. How bullish should Portugal be about their Euro 2020 chances? Tweet me - @grahamruthven!
Ronaldo starts! Because of course he does. The Juventus forward doesn't tend to miss many matches, even ones as inconsequential as this one. Ronaldo wants to add to his record!
