Jadon Sancho sidelined for several weeks with ankle injury

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho will be sidelined for several weeks with an ankle injury.

The 17-year-old Englishman picked up the knock in Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Cologne on Friday after coming on as a substitute.

The injury is particularly badly timed, with Sancho recently enjoying a run in BVB’s first team having started their three previous Bundesliga games.

A statement on Dortmund’s Twitter account said: “Jadon @Sanchooo10 has sustained in the game @fckoeln (3:2) a ligament injury in the ankle and will be absent from BVB for several weeks.”
