Landzaat set for Espanyol

Espanyol are close to signing Dutch international midfielder Denny Landzaat from AZ Alkmaar, the Primera Liga club said on Tuesday. "We have almost reached an agreement with the player but need to close the deal with AZ Alkmaar. We are in no rush," said Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre.

The 30-year-old, who was in the Dutch World Cup squad, played for Willem II before joining Alkmaar in 2004.
Landzaat will join Moroccan international Moha and coach Ernesto Valverde as new recruits at the Catalan club.
Espanyol won the Copa del Rey and narrowly avoided relegation after an injury-time goal gave them victory over Real Sociedad in their final game of the season.
