Guardiola had been expected to sign the deal, which was agreed verbally with former chief Joan Laporta in January.
Assistant manager Tito Vilanova also penned a one-year deal.
"The extension of a coach who has won seven titles in two seasons - including a domestic and European treble in 2008-09 - was the news we were waiting for," a club statement read. "The signing happened at around 13:30 CET in the club offices.
"We also presented (new) president Sandro Rosell, sporting director Josep Maria Bartomeu, technical representative Josep Maria Orobitg and assistant coach Tito Vilanova.
"This was all agreed on January 20 this year when the coach, from Barcelona, agreed to stay on for at least one more year."
