Real Maicon deal collapses

Internazionale are set to keep Brazil defender Maicon after halting talks with Real Madrid over his transfer, according to club president Massimo Moratti.

Maicon, 29, has been linked with Madrid since Jose Mourinho left Inter to become coach of the Spanish giants.

But, despite entering negotiations over a proposed deal, Inter have decided to keep the former Monaco and Cruzeiro right-back.

"Personally I consider him such a good player that maybe I've decided not to sell him," Moratti told said to reporters waiting outside his offices.
