James: 'Cristiano Ronaldo deserves 99% of votes' in Ballon battle

James Rodriguez believes Cristiano Ronaldo is the outstanding candidate for this year's FIFA Ballon d'Or. "He should win it with 99 per cent of the votes."

The attacker has enjoyed the public backing of his colleagues in the running for the individual honour, with Coach Carlo Ancelotti his most notable supporter.
Now, the Colombia international has become the latest member of Los Blancos to air his faith in the 29-year-old's ability to win the award for successive terms.
"The Ballon d'Or is the dream of any player, but at the moment it belongs to Cristiano," he told Marca in an interview today.
"This year he'll win it because he deserves to, it's that simple.
"He should win with 99 per cent of the votes. As our coach said, the difference between Cristiano and the rest right now is massive.
"His quality speaks for itself. He works very hard to be what he is: the world's best.
"Cristiano and I understand each other well and we will do so more in time."
