French Champions Olympique Lyon were paired against Paris Saint-Germain in the draw for the last 16 of the French League Cup on Saturday, while in-form Marseille have been handed a difficult away tie at Saint Etienne.

The two remaining Ligue 2 sides, Stade Reims and Dijon, were drawn against Monaco and Sochaux respectively.
With the new seeding system having been put into place, Lyon were assured of avoiding ties with Bordeaux, Lille and Lens, though would doubtless have preferred to avoid Guy Lacombe's PSG, who have a strong pedigree in the cup.
Saint-Etienne v Marseille is a historic fixture in French football, and despite the away draw, Albert Emon's Marseille will go into the match as favourites after their unbeaten domestic start to the season so far.
Stade Reims will be eyeing a giant-killing against AS Monaco, who have lost four of their six league game so far this season, and look set for a season of mid-table mediocrity.
