Jose Mourinho has named a strong Manchester United side for the League Cup semi-final against Hull, but there is no place for Anthony Martial or Wayne Rooney.

The club captain is on the bench while the Frenchman, who was omitted from the squad for Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Stoke, again is not included leading to doubts over his future at the club with the transfer window just days away from closing.

There is also no place for Ashley Young in the 18 after he has been linked with a move to various clubs, including Watford, West Ham and Swansea City, in order to get more game time.

Teams in the Chinese Super League have also expressed an interest.
