Arsenal survived a scare against Blackpool in the four round of the Carabao Cup as Tottenham Hotspur saw off West Ham at the London Stadium.
The Gunners took the lead at the Emirates thanks to a fine finish from Stephan Lichtsteiner after a fine ball through to him from Matteo Guendouzi.
They doubled their lead when talented youngster Emile Smith-Rowe's shot fired into the ground and bounced over goalkeeper Mark Howard.
However there was a nervous finish when Guendouzi was sent off for a second bookable offence and Paudie O'Connor headed home for a corner.
Arsenal held with Blackpool losing a man themselves when O'Connor was sent off.
Across London a brace from Son Heung-min helped Tottenham Hotspur to a 3-1 victory over West Ham.
The South Korean international opened the scoring in the 16th minute before doubling the lead just after half-time.
Lucas Perez pulled one back for the home team but Fernando Llorente made sure of the result 15 minutes before time.
In the final tie of the night Lewis Wing's goal was enough to see Middlesbrough beat Crystal Palace 1-0.
