The Gunners took the lead at the Emirates thanks to a fine finish from Stephan Lichtsteiner after a fine ball through to him from Matteo Guendouzi.
They doubled their lead when talented youngster Emile Smith-Rowe's shot fired into the ground and bounced over goalkeeper Mark Howard.

However there was a nervous finish when Guendouzi was sent off for a second bookable offence and Paudie O'Connor headed home for a corner.
Arsenal held with Blackpool losing a man themselves when O'Connor was sent off.
Across London a brace from Son Heung-min helped Tottenham Hotspur to a 3-1 victory over West Ham.
The South Korean international opened the scoring in the 16th minute before doubling the lead just after half-time.
